as I entered the principles office to sign in for my classes, my eyes wandered around the room, familiarizing myself with the surroundings. " Lets see how long this lasts" I thought to myself as I was being escorted to my homeroom class. " Everyone, I would like for you to meet our newest student, Jessica harper. Please give a big round of applause and welcome her to our school". Other than some sarcastic remarks, the room stayed silent. As I headed to my seat, I glanced around the room and noticed a few of the girls sitting in the back left corner giving me dirty looks as I slid into my desk.
After homeroom I ran to my locker to drop my stuff off and head to my next class when a couple of kids pushed me against the wall, causing me to drop my stuff on the floor." perfect, now I'm late for class" I mumbled while I was picking up my books. " Would you like some help?" . I looked up to find a girl I recognized from homeroom. " sure" I said" if you don't mind helping out a loser". she bent down to help me pick up my books. after the mess was picked up and stuffed into my locker she turned and stuck out her hand out " I'm Emily by the way" " Jessie" I said while shaking her hand.
" So are you new here in Johnston city" she asked
" You can say that" I said
" Were are you from originally"?
" Every were"
" Why do you say that"?
" Long story"
" Oh, ok"
she continued to follow me until I reached my next class which happens to be my least favorite. Geometry.
" Why are you following me" " I'm not" she said " I'm in the same classes as you are. Except for English, chemistry, and art. Plus Mr. Peterson instructed me to give you a tour of the school. Why, I don't know, so your stuck with me for the entire day". Great, just what I need. someone following me every were I go. as if I'm going to get lost in the middle of the freakin school and no one will ever find me again. " Might as well" I said as we were walking into class.
I was so glad when the school day was over. as I walked out the doors and headed to who knows were, I saw a suspicious group of seniors crowding around underneath the bleachers by the track field. part of me was curious and wanted to investigate what they were doing, while the other half said forget it and leave. And I would have to, that is until I heard a familiar voice. " Come on guys, knock it off I mean it" Forget it Jackson, you owe me and you know it now pay up". Now my curiosity got the best of me and I sneaked over to see what was going on.
Now I could have listened to the darker side of myself and leave and mind my own business. The last thing I need to add to my record is a run in with the school bully. Trust me, it never ends well. it never has and it never will. I have always had a streak of bad luck following me ever since I was born. but forget the past, lets get back to the scene.
As I was saying, I was about to head the opposite direction and forget the ruckus going on by the track field, but, letting my stupidity get the best of me, I headed towards the noise like a pack of zombies running after a group of old people. Not wanting to draw attention to myself, I hid behind the garbage cans, hoping they would make a good hideout. I noticed a few of the bullies from art class, and the leader of the group, whos name I don't know, from chemistry. And right in the middle of the group kids was the last person I expected to see.
hey guys this is my first book, so if you have any suggestions or comments feel free post them. I'm really excited over how this will turn out and I hope yall enjoy it.
