A lone girl wandered down the path, thirteen minutes before midnight. This would be the last time she ever walked this path. She smiled. She knew what was coming. She had seen it the night before and had consequently come prepared. She checked a small, gold pocket watch that was tucked into her inside coat pocket, a hand ticked. Twelve minutes before midnight. It was almost time. The heels of her black boots clicked against the cold, concrete path as she walked. She drew a dark amber stone that hung by a thin gold thread around her neck. It started glowing. The sky dripped warm rain onto her face. It was the middle of winter in London, England. This wasn't right. She looked up. She didn't have scream before the burst of gold light took her. She wasn't expecting this.
