"One down"-Read the title. I sat at the local cafeteria watching the TV screen when the news popped out on it. I sat in a corner closest to the black plasma TV in case news like this one appeared on the screen. The cafeteria was awkwardly empty that day, just three or two people were in it but just to order carryout sandwich. The smell of fresh bread and cheese, ham and other tasty ingredients. The city was kind of busy all the time, people had to go to work. The people in the cafeteria were dressed in elegant black suits and ties, ready for another boring day. They were in line in front of a glass showcase full of cakes and sweets of al sorts. Behind the counter were supplies for the house or just quick snacks like Pringles (my favorite). The walls were gray and the paint was wearing down. The one things that tore away my attention from the Pringles were the news.

The news told the story of a young man who was murdered last night. His name was Lucas Dean, age 17. The poor guy looked younger than 17. His hair was black like his eyes, and had really pale skin. The picture showed him smiling next to the censored face of a woman, probably his mother. "Just a boy" I thought, eating the last piece of bread in my plate. Just thinking of how much pain his family was going through, made me feel sick to my stomach, but that's just what the A.H.H.D. did. The Anti-Human Hunt Division were an initially secret Government Squad, that was intended to find and investigate Anti-humans, (or whatever they call them anyway) but there was an incident: an anti-human attacked the White House, the Pentagon, Time Square, and many other important monuments leaving millions dead. That was two years ago. The stories said that anti-human was ancient, probably the first of them. He was horrifying, and his abilities were quite deadly. The guy that told me that didn't specify them, and I can't ask him anyway. He's dead too. Because of that incident and other smaller ones with other bad anti-humans, my friends have to hide like fugitives, afraid for their lives. Hiding so they wont end up like poor Lucas Dean . This anti-human outbreak pushed all of the big cities of the world to the limit. I even joke sometimes with my friends about the President, comparing him to Hitler and the holocaust. Even when he doesn't pull the trigger himself, he is still as guilty as the A.H.H.D.

I've been studying anti-humans myself. Their abilities, where they come from, and how. Ever since I found out my best friends Alex Ward or "Half-Bro" (as I like to call him) and Lucy Park were anti-humans themselves, I decided to learn more about them and help them hide from anyone that tried to harm them. I would say I try to protect them but it's evident that they can handle themselves. But as long as they're safe, I am glad. I also think it must be awesome to be an anti-human, but I don't have such luck. So I swore to myself that they wouldn't be caught or murdered by the A.H.H.D on my watch.

When I was done with my breakfast, I got up from the blue chair, threw the plastic plate and empty water bottle in the trash can, and left the place. I looked at my phone's time and it was 10:45 am. The sky was a little cloudy as I walked through the street, hands in the pockets of my dark green hooded jacket. The buildings were tall and grey, with screens with advertisements about many things and there was people everywhere walking in every possible position. "Busy city" I thought again, and that's when I saw them. Signposts located in many parts of the streets. Signposts of anti-humans. Signposts with the faces of my friends. There was no mistake, the one I was looking at was of my best friend. He had brown hair that used to be blonde, light brown eyes, a cut beard, and pale pink skin. The sign said "WANTED ANTI-HUMAN:
           ALEX WARD
    DO NOT APPROACH
           DANGEROUS

-"Bastards..."-I couldn't help but whisper. I knew he was running out of time, and so did he. But it was about time I paid him a visit.
