«Simon, stop it! Put me down now, or I swear I'm going to kill you!" a seven year old girl shouted, in hopes that her not-so-great best friend would let her down from his back. He just started laughing and refused to let her down. Sure enough she did find it quite funny for the first couple of minutes, but when he started running around and jumping like an idiot, she started to feel dizzy. For her the whole world was spinning and her head felt heavier than usual. Simon on the other hand, didn't seem to notice anything wrong with the situation and thought she was only shouting at him because she was 'mad'.

Suddenly he felt her body go limp, and he wasn't fast enough to grab her. She fell to the ground and hit the concrete floor with a loud thud. "Acacia?" There was no answer, and he could feel himself starting to sweat. Why wasn't she moving? He started panicking and didn't know what he was supposed to do. "Mom! Mom, come quickly!" he started screaming for his mother, but she didn't hear him. The only thing he could think to do was to run and find his parents . He looked one last time at his best friend and then he sprinted into the house. He searched for his mother in every single room, but she was nowhere to be found. The last room he searched was the basement, and sure, there she was. A feeling of relief hit him, and he told her that she had to come quickly. She was talking on the phone and scowled at her son for interrupting, but he didn't care. The confused look on his mother's face as he started to drag her up the stairs was replaced with worry as soon as they entered the garden. Looking at his best friend's face he realized that this was his fault, if he only had stopped when she told him to then none of it would have happened.

Sirens could be heard from miles away as they entered the driveway of the Minter family. Neighbors looked confused out of their windows as they saw the stretcher getting pulled out of the vehicle. Ambulance personnel could be seen running around, screaming at everyone to hurry up and get the poor girl to the hospital. Not long after they had gotten her in the back of the ambulance a white car pulled up the driveway and Simon could feel his heart beat speeding up. What was he supposed to say to them? "Hey so your daughter fell unconscious while I gave her a piggy back ride." They would never let him see her again... All he hoped for was that they wouldn't question it, maybe then they wouldn't find out it was his fault, at least not until she told them. When the passenger door opened he found himself hiding behind his mom. "Where is she?" a female voice asked as she desperately looked around her. Simon recognized her as Mrs. Winchester or in other words, Acacia's mother. Simon made eye-contact with her only for a split second, but it was still enough for her to notice him and start walking towards him. He found it hard not to cry, but he knew that he couldn't, because then he would just seem weak.

At that point Simon just wanted to vanish, and so he did. When he was sure that no one was watching, he sprinted back into the house and upstairs to his room. There he grabbed the biggest bag he had and started packing. He didn't really care what he packed, but he knew that he would need some things if he was going to run away. Clothes weren't his main priority at that point, so instead he tried to pack useful things, he even found himself a pocket knife. Being very quiet and careful, he snuck down to the kitchen and started to pack himself some foods and drinks. He was too young to understand what had really happened to his friend, but one thing he was sure of, and that was that the police was going to arrest him for it. Little did he know that it hadn't been his fault at all.
