Hey! I started this story on my old account @Paranormal648 but my computer got hacked so I started this new account. You don't have to worry about this interrupting my other updates and soon Red Eyes will hopefully be updated by the end of the day. I know this is a different picture than the one on my other account. Wattpad wouldn't let my use the other photo so I had to change it so Phoenix is in the picture above. Please vote and tell me your opinions about this! Enjoy!
Phoenix POV
****
My life was turned upside down last year when my father died of lung cancer. He had been a smoker. My mother tried to get him to quit, but he was addicted. She had been heartbroken when we found out that all his coughing and hacking hadn't been because of a cold. Stage two lung cancer is what the doctor said. He had cancer for a couple months before the doctors found it. They gave him pills that would help him a little and gave him a oxygen tank to help with his breathing. He soon developed stage three and he had to stay at the hospital.
After awhile they thought he was stable enough to come home. My mother was thrilled. She hired a caregiver who could take care of him while she worked, and I was at school. Her name was Anna, and I loved her. She was amazing. When I got home from school she would already have baked cookies for me. She would help me on my homework and stay until my mother got home. I loved having her over, but one day she had been in an car accident and never showed up. my mother and I were already gone, thinking she was just running a few minutes late.
When I had gotten home, there were no cookies and no Anna. I called out for her but she didn't respond. I walked into my mother and father's room to check on my father, but when I got in there he wasn't breathing. I had ran to the phone and dialed 9-1-1. The ambulance came and did everything they could. They said he'd died two hours before I got home. I called my mother and told her what had happened. She was devastated. I called Anna, and her boyfriend picked up. He told me that Anna had been in a car accident and had a broken her leg. He said she was going to be okay. I thanked him and wished her to get better.
When my mother got home, her mascara had ran down her cheeks. I ran over to her and hugged her. We cried all night. The next day I had thought it had just been a nightmare. It wasn't though. Soon after, I fell into a deep depression, I started hurting myself. My mother took me to therapy but it never helped. I started losing friends and skipping school. I failed my Freshmen year of high school. I had trouble moving on from my father's death. My mother decided to check me into a mental hospital because she was scared I would kill myself.
After a couple months I started to get better. I started to eat and sleep again. I wouldn't have to have someone else cut up my steak or pork, I could do it myself. Finally I was checked out, but things back home had gotten worse. My best friend had left me for some preppy school girls and would always try to make me upset. She would tell lies about my family and where I was for the past couple months. This went on until I couldn't trust anyone, not even my own mother.

I walk around my bed and sit on the edge of it and look at my feet. I never wear short sleeves and shorts let alone a dress! My mother thought it would make me happier. Yeah, showing the scars on my arms will definitely make me happy. I pick up my brush and yank it through my brown hair. I stare at my reflection, the black dress making my hazel eyes stand out. "Phoenix, come downstairs, before you miss the bus."
I sigh and stand up "I'm coming Mom." I walk slowly down the stairs. She's sitting at the table with a coffee in her hand.
She looks me up and down then smiles. "You look beautiful, Phoenix." I try to fake a smile for her and grab my bag.
