THREE SARAM, ONE SARANG
CHAPTER ONE.
*TITLE; LETTER TO WHO?*
"A lot of things happen in life, some of which are expected and some of which are not. Most people make decisions based on what others say without trying to think about what their inner mind says. Everyday is special but some people are unaware of it. It takes someone who is observant and positive to know that everyday is special and make the best out of it. You don't have to wait for a day like this to come and then go by before you take actions. If you didn't do it yesterday, you can do it today. I have no better way to convey my message and I hope you understand me. Once again, I'm CHOI MI JIN."
Mi jin stared at herself in the mirror and sighed. The sound of someone clapping made her turn back.
"Is it good enough?" Mi jin asked as she sat on the bed with her friend, SEO IN HA.
"It's really good." In ha replied as she packed the books they scattered on her bed. "You've been practicing for this since last week and you keep changing sentences, but I must tell you, I like this one."
"Really? Then I guess I don't have to worry." She smiled. "It'll all be done tomorrow."
"But Mi jin-ah, when you're talking tomorrow, remove the first two sentences in your speech. It doesn't seem to go with the concept."
"Is that so? Arasso. Thank you." She told her as she packed her books.
"Why are you packing your books already?" In ha asked her. "You still have up to an hour before you go home."
"I have something to do." She replied wearing her shoes.
"What is it?"
"I have to stop by the letter shop."
"Letter shop? Do you want to write a letter or what?"
Mi jin smiled and nodded.
"A letter? Why write a letter? Who still writes letter in this age. You're really strange."
"Ya! It's for tomorrow." Mi jin told her hitting her head.
"Of course I know. But you can get cards instead. Why go through the trouble of writing a letter?"
"Are you following me or not?" She asked her standing up.
In ha sighed. "I have no one to write a letter to."
"You do, and you know I know. But I'm not asking you to buy a card or something, I'm only asking you to follow me."
"Arasso, arasso."

Letter shop.
"Pick this one, it's really nice." In ha suggested.
"Am I writing a letter to a child in kindergarten?"
"Tch. Whatever. How about this one! It looks really..."
"Expensive. Look at it, uhn." Mi jin interrupted her. "It's really expensive. I'll take this one instead." She added and walked out o the counter to pay.
"But, Mi jin-ah, why are you just getting one? This is the first time you'll be intending to give someone something and you'll be getting just one. It's always three. Are you sure you don't want to get the remaining two?"
Mi jin smiled and turned to face her. "I..." She started. "...I should put an end to that."
"What?"
"Treating the three of them the same way. My heart... Can't take it again. I can't keep on living under their shadows and keep on deceiving myself for the sake of doing the right thing."
"Are you...?"
"That's right." She nodded. "Tomorrow, I won't be writing a letter to three people, I'll be writing it to the person my heart chooses."
"W...who could that be?"
Mi jin smiled. "You should know." She told her. "Because you're my friend." She added still smiling as she turned to face the lady at the counter. "How much is this?"

Sevit High.
Mi jin entered the classroom and looked round. They had all decorated the classroom the previous week in preparation for the special day. Smiling, she imagined herself standing in front of the class giving her speech and then her confession at the end of the speech.
"...once again, I'm Choi Mi jin." She paused and sighed. "I've been trying to treat the three of you the same way, but I realized that you can hide your feelings and deceive yourself, but you can't hide your heart for long. I've always wanted to say this, but I haven't been able to gather the courage to. That is why I'm using this opportunity to show you this letter and to tell the whole class that the person my heart is going to among you the three of you is..."
"Ya!" In ha exclaimed as she wrapped her arm around her neck cutting her off from her imagination. "I told you to wait for me at the corridor! Why did you leave?!"
Mi jin shooved her away as she walked to her seat. "You were taking forever." She replied as she sat down and brought out her books. "Have you seen those three punks? I haven't seen them at all."
"Same here. They'll probably be here in no time."
Mi jin turned towards the empty seats of her three friends and sighed. Just then, one of her classmates rushed inside to meet her.
"Mi jin! In ha!" She called them panting.
"What is it?" Mi jin asked her.
"Right now, Baek hyun, Ji woo and Sung jun are on their way here now."
"Of course we have a class now." Mi jin told her.
"It's not that. Go nam said he overheard the three of them arguing about something and the last thing he heard was Ji woo telling Baek hyun and Sung jun to come to you and see who wins."
"Come to me?" Mi jin asked. "What exactly is up with these guys again."
Just then, three guys stepped into the class one by one; YOO BAEK HYUN followed by SONG JI WOO and then YANG SUNG JUN and they approached her. Mi jin turned to look at them while In ha couldn't help but stare in awe at the way the three guys were dressed.
"What's up with you guys? Why are you dressed like that?" Mi jin asked them smiling.
"Mi jin-ah." Sung jun called her.
"Yes?" She replied turning to look at Sung jun.
"We've come to propose to you." Baek hyun blurted out and before she could say anything, the three of them went on their knees at the same time.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" Ji woo talked next.
Mi jin couldn't say anything as she kept on staring. She was holding the sheet of paper in her hand very tight and In ha noticed how she kept on looking towards three empty seats. In ha waved her hand in front of her and brought her back to life.
"Do you want to turn into a destroyer overnight? You almost tore that paper and you almost broke those chairs with your hard stares. Are you okay?"
Mi jin sighed when she realized it was her imagination after all.
But what if? Came the small voice in her head. What if it really happens?
"Aishhh, I really don't know!" She exclaimed as she stood and walked to her locker.
"Ya, don't try to kill yourself by thinking too hard." In ha told her as she followed her.
Mi jin opened her locker and several packaged gifts poured out. Mi jin smiled as she knew who was responsible for filing up her locker with gifts.
"Those guys are really something." She muttered to herself as she bent down with In ha to pick up the gifts.
"These ones are from Baek hyun, these ones are from Ji woo and these ones are from Sung jin." In ha told her. "But, Mi jin-ah, why is Sung jun always giving you yoghurt. Whatever the situation, the only thing he gets you is yoghurt. He even gets it in pack for you meaning he can afford to get something else but why is it always yoghurt?"
"I'm not complaining, so why should you?" Mi jin asked as she stood up and returned the gifts back to her locker.
"I'm just curious, that's why." In ha replied as she gave her the ones she picked.
"Thank you." Mi jin told her and locked the locker.
"When are you going to write the letter?" In ha asked her as they returned back to their seat.
Mi jin picked up her pen and the letter card and smiled. "Now." She replied.
Mi jin wrote her name at the top of the letter card. "From Choi Mi jin."
The door of the classroom opened as Baek hyun, Ji woo and Sung jun entered. Mi jin and In ha turned to look at them. Seeing Mi jin, Baek hyun gave a wink, Ji woo smiled and Sung jun threw something at her and she caught it. She smiled when she saw that it was yoghurt. She raised it up so Sung jun could see that she caught it.
"Thank you." She muttered as their teacher entered the class.
While the class was going on, Mi jin was not concentrating as she was busy writing her letter. She kept on smiling and stealing glances at the three guys. In ha shook her head smiling as she watched Mi jin. She also kept on stealing glances at the letter Mi jin was writing as she was curious to know who she was interested in among the three of them. Mi jin ended the letter with a full stop. She moved the pen to the lower part of the letter card and wrote "To..." She paused as she looked up.
"Whose name is she going to write?" In ha asked herself.
Mi jin paused as she turned to look at Yang Sung jun and she stared at him for the next few minutes before turning to look at Song Ji woo. Staring at him also for a while, she smiled and then turned to look at Yoo Baek hyun and just like he had been expecting her to look at him, he turned to look at her catching her off guard and their eyes met.
Flashback
"Are you sure you can carry it all by yourself?" An old lady asked her.
Mi jin smiled as she carried three crates of egg up. "See, I can carry it. I'm still too young to be lazy to carry this small thing. I'll be right back, Ajumma."
"Arasso. Don't take long."
"Yes!" She exclaimed as she left with the crates of egg. Few minutes later, just as she was about crossing the road, a mortorbike ran into her causing her to fall with the eggs. She looked at the eggs and turned to look at the guy and saw that he was perfectly okay with his motorbike. She stood up, turned to look at the broken eggs on the floor and then turned to look at him.
"You...why were you driving so recklessly?! Can't you take a proper look at the road when you're driving?!"
The guy removed his helmet and we see that he's Yoo Baek hyun. He brought out his wallet from his pocket, brought out all the cash he had in it and stretched it to her.
"What is this?" She asked him looking at the huge sum of money he was holding.
"Weren't you going to ask for money?" He asked her bluntly.
"What?!" She exclaimed unbelievably.
"The look on your face clearly showed 'pay for the eggs' would be the next sentence that would come out of your mouth. Or is that not so?"
Mi jin scoffed. "Apologize." She ordered him.
"What did you say?"
"I asked you to apologize! That is what you should have done first!" She shouted at him.
Baek hyun moved closer to her. "I...can't remember learning how to say that word." He told her as he counted the money so she could see clearly how much it was. "In other words, I don't use that word." He added and threw the money at her before picking up his helmet.
"I think money sounds better in situations like this." He told her. Putting on his helmet, he mounted the motorbike and drove off.
"Ya! Ya!" Mi jin exclaimed after him. "Come back here and apologize, you spoilt brat!"
