Caught Off Guard

Mark's POV

It was a normal Saturday afternoon when I got a phone call from Travis.
"Hey Mark what's up?" He asked
"Nothing really what about you?" I asked
"Nothing really, are you doing anything today?" He asked hopeful
"Not that I know of, why whats up?" I asked
"How about you call Tom and we all meet up at the park with the kids?" "Landon hasn't seen Jack in a while" he told me
I thought a minute
"Sounds like a plan, Ill call Tom and I will call you back" I told him.
"Ok let me know" he said

I called Tom, he answered on the 3rd ring
"Hello?" He said
"Hey Tom, listen you wanna meet up at the park with the kids? Travis is bringing his kids and ill bring Jack so they all can hang out."
"Sure sounds like a plan" he said
"Cool see you in a bit" I told him

I called Travis back and told him to meet us at about 2:00 and I went to Jack's room and told him to get ready.
He came out of his room dressed in basketball shorts and a T shirt, he had a basketball in 1 arm and his skateboard in the other.

"Landon and I might play a game of basketball so Ill bring mine in case the park doesn't have any" he explained. I nodded and we headed down the trail, the park was a 10 minute walk, even faster since Jack was going to ride instead.
We got there and saw Travis pull up a few minutes after.
Jack ran over to the car and went with Landon to play a game of basketball, while Alabama followed them.
Travis and I found a picnic table to sit at between the parking lot and court to wait for Tom.
Not too long after, Tom showed up with Ava and Jonas.

The kids went off to do whatever while Travis, Tom and I discussed random things. Everything was going fine until a white truck pulled up near the basketball court...
