A/U: THIS BOOK IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I WROTE THIS ORIGINALLY WHEN MILES WAS NOT OUT AS TRANS. I CHANGED THE NAMES AND PRONOUNS AND I CHANGED THE TITLE BUT THIS IS NOT ENOUGH. OUT OF RESPECT TO MILES I AM CURRENTLY CHANGING THE ERRORS THAT WERE MADE. I JUST WANT TO SAY SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE
Miles' POV:
"is this bus always late?" Lucy complains for the 60th time this morning. I couldn't blame her really, she's been here for a month now and there is not much to do around here. The school was the only interesting part of everyone's day, and even still most people hated that too.
"Yes, it's finally here!" Lucy screeches down my ear. I cringe and cover my ears as an attempt to block out the horrendous sounds of the door to the worn-out bus opening. I really don't understand why this guy has not got a new bus by now, it has broken down so many times during this term.
Once we get, on the well-known bus driver greets us in his usual mannerism. The bus was pretty empty, only about 3 other kids excluding me and Lucy. of course, one of those three was the one and only Harry Styles.
Harry has been obsessed with me for a while now. No one has any idea why but he just will not get it into his head that I'm not gay.
For the benefit of harry's health, Lucy and I decided to sit in the front corner away from him. However, that did not stop Harry, within seconds he was sat right behind me.
"Hi Miles." His smile was genuine and as creepy as he can be he is genuinely one of the nicest people I know. It would hurt me to be mean to him, especially since he has tried his all to keep us in contact. The least I can do is offer at least half of the effort that he has given to me.
"Hey, how's it going?" yay, boring old small talk.
"Good actually," He pauses, his eyes focusing on his hands that are continuously picking at one another, a noticeable habit he has picked up on due to nervousness and anxiety. He audibly takes a deep breath, and this is when I know exactly what he is going to say. "So... have you given the date offer any thought?"
There it is.
"Harry, I'm really sorry. I know I don't need to think about it, I know I'm not interested because I'm not gay." I remind him, again.
"That's okay, the offer will always stand." He smiles and nods his head.
"Is he being serious?" Lucy whispers to me. I can understand her confusion, but Harry has been acting like this for a while. I decided to not question his preternatural behaviour towards the current situation. He does what he does, maybe one day I would understand why he chose to ignore me when I let him down easily, but for now, it is what it is.
"Mckenna," He speaks up as the bus journey comes to an end "I'll see you in Geography."
