The Golden Eagle

Chapter 1

I was sitting in my bedroom, reading a book. The Time Machine by H. G. Wells.

I heard my father come home after watching birds for the whole day. My dad was an ornithologist, which ment he studied birds. We had a few birds here in my house. Two parrots (which never stopped talking), a canary, and my dad's prise bird, an eagle. A golden eagle.

I got out of my room to say hi to my dad. My mom had made dinner, so we ate.

Once we were done, I went back to reading. That's when the eagle stated to flip out.

"Agh! No you stupid bird! No!" I heard my dad shout. My mum stared to scream also. Then there was the sound of gunshot. This ask happened as I ran to them.

Then the screaming stopped. I arrived in the kitchen, were the eagle usually was. It was there, but my parents weren't. They were, well, gone. They were no where. It's like they just dissappeared.

The only witness was the eagle. The golden eagle who would hurt a fly. Well,  besides eat the meat it was given.

"You! You stupid little!" I shouted at it. "You! You killed them! You-" Then I stopped.

I stared at the eagle. It had changed. It was now a golden mechanical eagle. What happened?

I waked slowly up to it. It stuck is head up at me. I put my hand out and stroked is head. It seemed to purr, if eagles purr, as I stroked it.

This thing was a beauty. It was a grand work of art.

But then I remembered my parents. They were both gone.

Then the eagle did something amazing, again. It opened its beck and an orb of energy came out. It burst and something opened. A portal.

The eagle flew into the portal and dissappeared. I had no idea what the hell was going on, but still.

So I did the last thing I expected. I jumped in.
