I pumped my legs as hard and as fast as I could, but my stumpy limbs were to short to catch up. I pressed the button on my walky-talky and with a short burst of static I radioed Leila. "Cut. Him. Off. On. Eighth," I panted, still running as fast as I could. Then he turned into a small alleyway; like I hoped he would. Gotcha, I thought a small smile playing at my lips. I always have more than a few tricks up my sleeve. I slowed just enough to catch my breathe, but still fast enough to enjoy it. I found my way into the darkness of the alleyway. Pausing for a moment to listen; what echoed back to me made my heart flutter. My smile grew; my energy renewed. I launched myself across the dark, just as fast as my body allowed, blood pounding in my ears. There was nothing better than the chase. Sadly, it was over too soon. I'd made my way back to the light of the streetlights. There I found Kyle with his hands held behind his back by Leila. Elation flowed through me, and I reached out my hand. Time seemed to slow as my hand found fabric. "Tag," I yelled. "You're it!" Then promptly sprinted back the way I came.
