Mark gathered his things to leave for Jack's that weekend. They had been planning this collab for a while now and finally, it was time to do it. Their fans would love what they had in store. A smile spread across his lips as he left and locked things up. The trip wasn't too long due to the excitement he had to see one of his best friends. He stretched and grabbed his bags to meet up with Jack. Once he saw his friend, he waved and walked up to him.
Jack had been just as excited as Mark was and hardly even slept through the night due to his excitement. The next day when he was supposed to meet up with Mark at the airport, it felt like forever just standing there waiting and looking for him... When he finally spotted Mark, he waved. His hand and his bright green hair were the only things to tell him apart from the crowd since Jack was a bit short. "Mark!" Jack shouted obnoxiously before he ran over, continuously shouting his name and laughing when he finally closed the distance between the two of them. "How are ya man? It's been so fuckin' long." He said before he gave his best friend a big hug.
Mark chuckled as he hugged his friend back after setting his bags down, "Been great. Dying to finally get here and do this." He smiled warmly down at Jack, being a bit taller than him. "What about you, what have you been doing since I last saw you?" He picked his bags back up and allowed Jack to speak while they started walking out of the airport. It took Mark all he had to not jump up and down with excitement.
It was hard for Jack to contain his excitement, so instead, he channeled it through being loud like he always did, it always seemed like it was hard for Jack to be quiet, especially when he was around Mark. "I've just been doin' what I always do you know, just trying to survive until we can do shit like this again." He admitted, revealing just how happy he was to see Mark again which was maybe a little more than it should've been, but who cared? The only time they ever talked or met up anymore was for conventions and even then they barely spent any time together. After a while, Jack even offered to carry one of Mark's bags for him as they got outside. "It's the least I can do, I mean fuck, you're stayin' at my house for christ's sake." He told him when Mark refused, opening the trunk of his car for Mark to place his bags in there.
Mark chuckled deeply at his friend's loudness and words, he did refuse to let Jack take a bag, "Exactly, you're letting me stay with you so I can carry my own bags." He playfully stuck his tongue out momentarily before placing his bags in the trunk then plopped into the passenger seat of the car. "How're you and your girl?" Mark didn't really care for her, he didn't know why but something about her bothered him, though he would never have admitted it. "I mean, last I heard, you were doing good." He smiled and casually glanced out the window.
It had actually been quite a while since Mark and him had talked, especially about his girlfriend. In other words, it wasn't good new he was about to confess. Jack closed the trunk then slid into the driver's seat as he started the car and pulled out of his parking spot, swiftly leaving the airport and heading back to his home. "Ah, well. She decided I was a bit.. much. You'd think after years I wouldn't be, but I guess if I didn't make her happy anymore then what else can I do, right?" He said and seemed a little uncomfortable with the subject, as if he wasn't over what had happened between him and his now ex-girlfriend. He knew Mark would offer come comforting words but he didn't want to talk about it, he only wanted to focus on Mark being there with him and having a good time with his best friend while it lasted. After around an hour, they were finally at Jack's house and even though Jack insisted this time on carrying Mark's bags, Mark still wouldn't let him. Jack, however, did set everything up for their collab that they would do once Mark had recovered from his flight. They both knew jetlag could be a bitch.
Mark could tell Jack didn't want to talk about it, and instead of pushing the matter, simply patted his friend's shoulder, "I'm sorry man." Mark kept watching out the window as they drove to Jack's house. He fought off the urge to fall asleep half way there, the flight had worn him out. Once they got to the house and Jack offered to take the bags again, Mark completely refused once more, going inside and setting the bags in the room he'd be staying in. "Hey, thanks for letting me stay here. It's way easier." He offered a smile to his friend and leaned against the doorway as Jack set up the room. He offered to help, but he knew that Jack wouldn't let him.
Jack had already begun setting up the room the moment he offered to let Mark stay here while they did their collab and just hung out, to Jack, Mark was one of the most important people in his life and he wasn't about to let him stay in some hotel when he could save money and just stay here. "Oh, it's no problem, you know that." He told him and continued, it only taking a few minutes for him to finish. When he was done, he let Mark get all settled in. "Hey, get some sleep, I know you've gotta be tired." He said and smiled just before he left the room and Mark to himself, going about whatever else he needed to do that day, even began recording while Mark was asleep. When he was finished, he edited the video as fast as he could then threw it up on Youtube, telling his fans that he would be doing a live stream soon and maybe one other video as Mark was there with him. When he was done completely, he just kind of sat there.. as if he were lost on what to do. This was all he did, besides spending time with his girlfriend who had left him.. so what would he do now? "Wait for Mark I guess.." He whispered to himself before he got up and went into his living room to watch some television.
