"Race you to there!" Elijah said. That may have been his last words, besides I'll wait out here.
We were getting ready to eat supper, we heard the loud noise but didn't think that it would have been a gun. We went outside finding Elijah laying on his back. We thought he just playing around, but then we saw the blood. I checked to make sure he was breathing, and he was. I called 991 and in a panicky voice I said, "my friend has just been shot, he is still breathing b-but just get here as soon as possible!" Once they got here they said,"are any of you family members of this boy?" We both responded, "no!" "Ok then you kids have got to ride separate, just follow us to the hospital." Dekker said ,"I'll drive." It was silent until a shaky voice came out and said,"who could have done it.I said nervously "I don't know but why, who would want to shoot Elijah?" Dekker said ."maybe Elijah wasn't telling us something"
