I quickly eat my piece of toast the great gathering is a challenge where dragon masters pick an apprentice to train them. They will teach them everything they know so that they become dragon masters and apprentices work to defend the great city of Wayhaven. "Hurry up Alan you don't want to be late".

I kiss my mum on the cheek and run out the door I head down to the dragon academy since I am 15 I am eligible to join the dragon academy.

My great, great grandfather he found out how to train dragons and was a very strong Mage so everyone knows me I walked Down the street headed into the castle and into the main hall all the 15 year olds were in a straight line.

The ceiling was very high and the colours of the walls were very bright I quickly stood into line next to my friend Jax I quickly said hi then I quickly became silent just before the masters walked they were covered in armour and had so many weapons.

We all bowed our heads in respect I smiled at my father he is a master that's why I am following in his footsteps he smiled back rise said the Sherman he is the strongest dragon rider there is I was hoping to be his apprentice.

Kids are not allowed to be apprenticed to their mother or father cause they are usually too nice to their apprentice that's why I want to be apprenticed to Sherman he may be the oldest but he is the strongest with magic and weapons. You can use magic in the academy but you have to be able to use it I found out about magic when I was 9 that's when it started to kick in one time I made all the sprinklers go off at school it was kind of funny I was excited but scared.

Children we will now start choosing you as our apprentices Sherman started off since he was the oldest. I closed my eyes then he called out the name Jazz she has blonde hair brown eyes Jazz smiled and walked to the front of the hall and stood behind Sherman he smiled at her. "Alan Wayhaven please come up on stage". I looked shocked and happy at the same time my father looked very proud I have very blue eyes and brown hair I walked up to the front of the stage and stood behind Jazz.
