Cole heaved a heavy sigh when he was awakened by his little brother Jacob. "Wake up, wake up!!" Jacob shouted excitedly at Cole's face. "It's school day!! I know you like school day!!"
Cole slid out of bed. "Indeed I do. Thank you for waking me up Jacob. May I please get dressed now?"
"Yes! Do that!" Then he sprinted out the door and closed it behind him.
Cole got dressed semi-quickly in his school uniform and walked out the door for breakfast. It was toast this morning and he ate it quickly, got his backpack and walked to school. When he got to school, there were many kids in a group talking about something that seemed important.
"Hey! School boy's here! Hey school boy!" One of the kids called. Cole walked over. All the kids called him school boy because he liked school so much but he didn't care. "Hey school boy! What do you think of this? In the fields there are sheep and goats diapering! The people will go out for their shift and there'll be a patch of blood somewhere but no remains or bones or nothin! I think someone's opening up the gates and letin the wolves come in an' take them away! What do you think school boy?"
Cole just said the first thing that came to mind. "Dragons." Everyone looked at him.
"What was that school boy?" "I said dragons."
"School boy, you're smart! You know dragons don't exist!"
"Yeah. Yeah sure." Cole walked away and sat down at a desk. Cole had a strange thing about him. Even though he was smart, he believed in dragons. It was something he could use to take a break. But he actually did believe in them, but he didn't know why. The teacher started handing out the assignments of the day when speakers crackled to life.
"Cole Ricksworth to the principals office." Everyone looked at him astonished. Cole never went to the principals office. He got up from his seat and got out of the classroom. He slowly walked with his head down to the dreaded principals office. He walked in hesitantly and the principal spoke calmly to him.
"Cole, you are to get picked up by your mother soon. You will not be attending this school any longer."
"What? What's going on." "You are moving Cole. Somewhere new."
"Okay then." Cole walked to the front doors of the school and waited for his mother. She ran up to him after a couple of minutes.
"Cole! We must go home and get ready! The king has sent us a letter! He wants you at the palace!"
      "W-what? Why me?"
"I don't know. But we must get home." They ran quickly back home where Cole's dad and little brother were already packing bags and getting dressed in their best clothes. Cole's mother made him put on a dusty blue and plad suit. When they were finished Cole started to wonder how they would get all the way to get to the palace. They walked outside the door and waited for something.
"The king said he sent an escort for us." Soon after Cole's mother had spoken a red chariot with a gold trim was spotted coming toward them. It stopped by the front door of their house and a servant opened the door for them to get inside. They climbed in and were met with a flat screen TV and some snacks.
"It's going to be a long ride," said the servant, "so we have snacks and movies for you."
"Thank you kindly," Cole's father said politely. Soon the servant who was the driver snapped the reigns on the horse and they were off to the king's palace.
