An Archaeologist finds working spell books and opens one.
The cave made my eyes strain as my back arched in pain. That was one heck of a fall. I force my eyes to look up at the hole shining sun down on me. I feel around my backpack till my hands meet warm metal of the flashlight I kept handy for caves I may find. Gotta be prepared right? I click it on and a stream of light fans on the stone wall ahead. I slowly stand, not wanting a head rush nor any more pain to my back. My green eyes sweep the cave, the light following my gaze. Once turned completely around, i was facing a tunnel. It was to fine to be natural, definitely man made by someone but who? Me being the person I am, I enter. The light flickered, even though I changed the batteries before I left the hotel. A room greeted me with an unwelcome eeriness. The room itself gave me chills. Shelves and tables adored the room filled with books, a cauldron, test tubes and bottles filled with bubbly and swirling liquids. This didn't feel right. I shrug the feeling away and pull a book off the shelve. I dust my fingers or the red/brown leather type material. It had a title writing in beautiful cursive in a language I didn't understand. I decide to open it out of pure curiosity. The pages looked old, as did the others, and had the same weird language as the cover with illustrations of a cauldron and different stuff such as hair, a spatter, a eyes and a liquid in the shape of a teardrop. I flip a few pages before running my fingers over the writing, as my finger scaled each word, I mumbled the blabbering word. I felt a shock run through me as I said the final word and the world went black.
