How to make a great creepypasta oc

Personality

Personality is something important for an oc because it makes the character more rounded and not a flat character. However if done wrong, personality can make them a stereotypical person or sueish character. Which is why it is important to make the personality balanced and unique.

To keep the character balanced don't give them too many bad or positive traits. For example making them cheerful, smart and strong would not be a balanced and unrealistic. But making them rude, dishonest and weak wouldn't be good either if they have no redeeming qualities. So make them mixed like for example making them cowardly but hard working character. Also make sure you have a good amount of ways to describe their personality and not two or three ways. Personality when I make my characters personality I give them at least ten or eleven ways to describe my character but that's just me. Giving them eight personality traits would be good too.

Another thing to work on when it comes to personality is making sure they aren't stereotypical. Like making them smart but weak and cowardly would be an example of a stereotypical person. Here are some cliches in personality when making a creepypasta ocs:

Making them adorable but will tear you to shreds: This can seem very sueish and be really annoying but there is a way to make them not as sueish. For example, if the oc is only acting adorable and is trying to lure in victims then that's not cliche.

Making them cold and emotionless: This is very stereotypical and annoying. Unless their a psychopath or has a good reason, they should have emotions.

Making them quiet, shy, mysterious : This doesn't work unless because it's unbalanced because there isn't any positive traits. All they have are neutral traits which isn't good either to have too much of. But it can be just as good by adding some positive and negative traits as well like giving them a temper and making them creative.

Making them overly violent and loud: This isn't balanced either and can be annoying. There is a way to make them not as bad. Like making them this way but also having them be serious or very intelligent at times would help balance them out.

These are some I can think of on the top of my head. Overall make them a unique and balanced character.
