"why the hell is he here?" i question.

"you're not in the media much lately, taylor. this will help you be the centre and new talk of the media." my manager, Cindy, calmly explains to me. "you're 18, and you've got a lot of massive hits, and more than three quarters of your singles and albums have been in the top ten. you're young, fresh and amazing, the public love you, so why not give them more? this will be good for your career."

"yeah, what's that got to do with a stranger sitting on my couch," i speak up, and glance over to the guy. he's sitting down, wearing a light grey t-shirt and black jeans. he looks up at us and his cheeks turn rosy, then looking down again at his phone.

suddenly a tall man wearing a neatly ironed suit strides into the office.

"hello. my name is andrew, and i'm shawns manager. you must be taylor, am i right?" he smiles.

"shawn?" i ask, confused.

"yes. that's him!" he nods over to shawn, the guy looks up at me again and smiles. i scowl back.

andrew chimes in, "me and cindy think it is a good idea to set you two up, not for real of course. you will be fake couples. all make-believe.  of course, i don't think you two would want to be a couple when you're off the cameras and not in public, but just in public, it would be a great idea for you two to be a couple. you will do things couples do; dates and hold hands and travel in the same car, update the internet on your relationship. this won't be easy, but i believe you two are both very hard working people and i'm sure you'll be able to make this work."

"i'm so confused!" i mutter. "are you okay with this?" i look at shawn.

"i mean, andrew is a great manager, and everything he's told me to do always ended up being great for my publicity and everything. i'm not a fan of this whole idea obviously but..." he trails off, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

"i love you and all, cindy. youre an amazing manager but i can't believe you're making me do this!" i shriek.

"yes i know this may be hard for you, taylor but this will end up great, i promise," cindy grins.

"now, you two will start being a couple as soon as you leave this building. got it?" andrew leaves, and so does cindy. she rubs my arm and speaks up to me and shawn. "why don't you guys get to know each other here for a bit?" she smiles and walks away.

"so..." shawn speaks up.

"okay we are not a couple now, i don't want to speak to you. i hate the whole idea of this if you don't get it, i'll only speak to you when i need to!" i grumble.

"okay wow easy there tiger," shawn smirks as i roll my eyes. i finally had a time to look at him properly and i realise how amazing his features fitted together to create his perfect face. he was pure perfection. his messy hair to his amazing brown eyes and his cute lazy eye.

"you done checking me out?" he smirks.

"who said i was?" i smile.

"you talked to me when you didn't need to" he grins.

"shit," i mumble. this was going to be harder than i thought.

taylor walks off, leaving me in this room. i quickly call after her.

"TAYLOR, come back!" i yell as i see her halter and stop.

"you have a problem?" she questions.

"yes, we have to be a couple? remember? the first thing we could do is exchange numbers though," i remind her.

she sighs as she places her number in my phone, and i take her small hand as she looks up to me with those gorgeous grey eyes, and i can see her clearly now. cute button nose, sculpted cheeks and her lips were perfection. damn, i was already developing feelings for her, even though i'm sure she hated me.

her body guard comes over as he hands her a wig and sunglasses.

"you might need this," she places a pair of sunglasses in my hand.

"why? i've never needed this before," i ask

"yes, thats because she's a lot more popular than you, if you don't put it on you may be mobbed," the body guard says.

as taylor places her wig on i stare at her perfect features. her pretty button nose, her perfect freckles, her long eyelashes, her soft pink lips and her mesmerising grey eyes. i'm really starting to fall for her now, and that's not a good thing.

as i step outside with her, she doesn't do anything. i mean, she's disguised right? so we technically don't need to do anything because people won't recognise her. then a scream.

"TAYLOR! IS THAT YOU?"

"OH MY FREAKING GOsh!"

" are you and that guy dating?"

"TAY!"

"wait i think he's shawn mendes!"

"AHHHHHH,"

my ears start to ring as so many people start to gather round, trying to take a picture with taylor. im always so used to all the attention on me that i feel bad. really lonely. even when i take my glasses off nobody recognises me. then, i see taylor start to panic, the body guard protecting her from the screaming fans. he speaks into his speaker, and in a few minutes some more body guards push through the crowd and gets to taylor. another beckons me to come over, as we're pushed through the crowd, and i could barely breathe. there must be hundreds of people around us by now, and tons of paparazzi snapping photos. taylor screams as somebody pushes her, and she gets lost in the sea of people. i notice her scarf as i push my way through the fans, reaching taylor just in time, and i pick her up as her shoe gets pulled away, and her scarf gets  stolen. we struggle as we're able to get into a car, and we drive away, breathing heavily, faces red.

it was an awkward silence. i start drumming my fingers on the window, as taylor looks out of the window as fans wave to her she smiles. she can even look beautiful without trying.

"thanks for saving me, there. you know. i appreciate that i can have a fake boyfriend that can actually save me," taylor smiles.

i know she meant it in a nice way, but the way she added the fake made my heart break. she doesn't know that every second i'm falling for her more and more.
