I walk to my locker, staring at the tiled floor beneath me. I reach up and twist the combination into the lock hanging from it. I throw my books inside, and grab my backpack from the hook.

"Word on the street is I'm your new tutor." Ethan half whispers behind me.

I turn around and my eyes are met with a pair of green/blue eyes hidden behind circular frames.

"I guess so. I don't really need one though." I lie, turning back to my locker to close it.

"That's not what I heard. You got a 66 on the last test from what I recall Mr. Lancaster telling me." His lips curling into a smirk

I roll my eyes, "I can't pay you if you tutor me. I don't have a job. and that's usually what tutors work for: money."

"I'm sure we could figure out a different arrangement." He chuckles, walking away.

--------

To be honest, he was attractive. Really attractive. I just couldn't admit it out loud. His hair was so long, it curled at the ends. His eyes, goddamn. They were so intimidating, yet inviting. His lips...Yeah, I should shut up now.

--------

A few hours later, I get a text from a random number.

"Hey! It's Ethan. Wanted to know if you were up for a study session tonight since we have a quiz tomorrow?"

"How'd you get my number?"

"I forgot to ask you myself so I asked around. Now about that study session.."

"Uh yeah, that's fine. My house or yours?"

"Mine."

"Alright"

A few seconds later, my phone screen lit up again displaying his contact name and a new message. I slide the message open, it's just his address.

--------

My mom dropped me off at his house. A regular townhouse with green shudders lining the windows. I knock on the door, there's no doorbell.

I hear footsteps walking towards the door and seconds later I'm greeted by who I assume is Ethan's mother.

"Hi! You must be Carlie. Ethan is up in his room. I was just heading out! I'll see you later, sweetie." She says grabbing her coat from the nearby rack and brushing past me to get outside.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you! Alright, thanks." I walk in and close the door behind me.

"Ethan, it's Carlie. I'm here" I call whilst walking upstairs.

"In here"

I open the door and see him sitting on his bed on his laptop. I look around the room, trying to familiarize myself with everything. He finally looks up at me and smiles. He pats the spot next to him, "Here, sit next to me and we can get started."

I plop myself down next to him. I'm trying not to stare but he just...looks completely different. He's wearing a black button up, black jeans and...no glasses...? I'm so used to seeing him in random t-shirts and glasses. I'm not complaining though, this view is pretty great, as well.

"I'm wearing contacts." He says setting his laptop aside and getting up to grab his chem book.

"Huh?"

"I saw you staring" He sits back down, opening the book to a random page.

--------

All throughout the session he was staring at me. The space between our bodies thinned as he moved closer and then shut the book.

"Well..I guess we're done.."

I nod, "I guess so...um, thanks. For the help."

He smiles, "Anytime..."

Silence falling over the room once again. I start getting up to leave when his voice stops me in my tracks,

"Pay up."

"What???" I turn around

"You heard me, pay up."

"I already told you I can't pay you for the tutoring lessons.."

"I know...and I believe I said we could find a different arrangement." His voice becoming deeper as he walks toward me.

"Uh, what kind of arrangement?" I question, raising an eyebrow.

"I think you know what kind." He whispers as he leans in....
