Burns through my veins
Surges through my being
Leaves distinct scarlet stains
It grips my tender being
Layers my eyes
I can no longer see
Feelings must suffice
I wander through painted memories
They seem distant and long gone
My hands now feeble and pale
Tremble at the arrival of the storm
I look to the heavens
Shout into the sky
Can't hear a sound
Tears drip from my eyes
I watch my distorted strength
Trying to fight against death
Ebbing life of mine
Does God even care?
Just then He captured my heart
There is no denying
He saved me just in time
