"Okay Katie, just sign here...and here...and here." Dr. Price said, handing Sevin's mother a stack of papers.
Brody's release papers that is.
Sevin and her mom got up early to go pick up Brody, and Sevin was anxious that there would be something that might keep Brody from going home. Well, home to her.
While Katie did paperwork with Dr. Price, or Leonard as his name was learned to be, Sevin sat with Brody on the firm bed.
"I don't think I can thank you enough for what you've done for me." He said while clenching her hand.
"It's really my mom.” she said back, resting her head on his shoulder.
"So are your mom and Leo like dating or something?" He asked.
"No, they're just 'talking.' Whatever that means. I mean, whenever I come here he's also nice to her. Nicer to her than me actually." She shrugged.
"He's a great doctor." Brody sarcastically laughed.
"I hear you kids!" Leonard chuckled from across the room.
"Also, um," Katie looked to the teenagers on the bed and lowered her voice. "Sevin needs some Quetiapine, Leo."
"Brody knows, Ma." Sevin said, already annoyed with her mother so early in the day.
"How many pills do you have left?" Leo turned to Sevin.
"Like 2 doses." Sevin dropped her head so neither adult could look her in the face.
"Seriously? Two days left and you only say something last night? I brought it up anyway, where you even going to tell me?" Katie said, getting up from her seat.
"I didn't realize it was that low until last night when I took my dose." Sevin defended, still looking down.
"You know, it's really fine. I'll write out a new prescription right now." Leo said, while taking a script pad out of his pocket.
He started scribbling on it and Brody grabbed hold of one of Sevin's wrists.
"Stay calm, alright?" He whispered into her ear and she lifted her head back up.
Leo handed Katie a slip off his pad, "Here's for two refills so you won't have to head or Dr. Grace's anytime soon."
"Are you trying to get rid of me?" Sevin asked, getting off the bed.
"I would never do anything like that to my favorite patient."
"Especially when you're tying to get in your patients' mom's pants."
"Sevin Lee Baroch!" Katie shouted and snatched the paper out of Leo's hands.
Brody held back laughter and clutched his stomach, the emptiness rattling his body.
"Mhm, so is he good to bring home?" Katie asked, gesturing to Brody.
"Yep, his tests say that he should be fine. Just make sure he eats light for a couple of days, and he has to drink a lot of fluids. Start with ginger ale and seltzer and sprite, easy- going soft drinks. Water of course, as well." Dr. Price said, as Sevin helped lift Brody off the bed.
"I have all that at home already Sev had a big party last night." Katie said.
"Oh she did? Was he there at the party?" Dr. Price asked directing the question at Sevin.
"Well that's how we brought him here last night." She replied, shaking a loose hair out of her face.
"I'll be seeing you all soon." The doctor chuckled as he walked out the room.
