Don’t you hate that feeling of being alone? Well I guess everyone does right. People are gone, there are very few of us out here in this big empty world, and I am the one to blame. I know how can one man be the cause of any empty world. I can tell you it’s very easy when you're the head of CDC, Yep that was me Dr. Phil Reynolds. It all started a year or two ago, when a nasty virus broke out in New York.
RING…….RING RING……..RING

“Hello Dr. Reynolds speaking.” I answered in a very irritated voice. It was late at night in Atlanta Georgia. I was about to leave my office to go see my family. I just wanted to go home and see my beautiful wife and kids.

“Hello Dr. Reynolds this is the president speaking I have a very bad situation a new virus is out in New York. I need you and your team to find a cure before it spreads anywhere else.”

I was shocked at first but then determination had hit me, I realized that this is my chance to save thousands of people. Ever since I was a child I always dream of saving thousands of people, I know what you are thinking why didn’t you just become a doctor? Well everyone was going in that field and this one sounded more….Exciting than a doctor ,let’s face it, yes when you're a doctor you save tons of lives everyday, but then it just becomes a habit, it’s what you're meant to do. When you work at the CDC you work with viruses and nasty things to find the cure to many things.

“Of course Mr. President it will be my honor.” I said with a less irritated voice and more of a confident one.

I was determined to find a cure. Maybe this is what I was meant to do save thousands of people by creating a cure, making history I can see it right now in a book where my name will be Dr. Phil H. Reynolds saved thousands of people. That might be in the news papers first but hey I will be known for what I did. My dream will final come true.

“Good I am glad, The paper work and the virus will be there tomorrow morning.” he said and hung up the phone before I could say anything else.

I was shocked at first, I thought it was only a mere dream to be honest. I looked at the clock to only realize that it was later then normal and I need to be home before my wife starts to worry.
……………………………………………………………………………………………

It was the very next day when things got real in my mind, it was scary. I had my team in a conference room, There were about 7 of them four men and three women. We had one of the patents come down so we could see what it does and frankly it was a brutal virus.

It start’s as a simple headache then it moves to a migraine, as that is happening it damages every nerve in your body, you then break out into a sweat and the next day every artery in your body will explode from too much pressure. It is a nasty virus. It kills within a few weeks, slow and painful death. Another crazy thing is the virus would change every three to four months so it was very hard to pin it down.

The Virus would hang out in your brain waiting for the best moment to act. (At your weakest point) Anyone could have it for months and not show any side effects untill it really wants to. It does more when you're sick so your body can't fight it off, and when your white blood cells are busy it will go everywhere in your body so there is no chance of your body fighting it, all you can do is wait and die.

We have been working at this for weeks on end. We have finally come up with 72 different cures or antidote as some people call it, for the virus and already thousands are dead. We tried to come up with them fast, but sometimes if you want the best you have to wait. I know what you are thinking Dr.Reynolds no one has time to wait as they are dieing. I know I am trying my best.

From that day forward we made antidot after antidot, testing them on monkey after monkey it never seemed to work. It would either slow down the processes or quicken it up. In that time frame it spreaded from New York all across America, and to some parts of the europeans.

Once I made antidote 67, we tried it on one of our last monkey’s, hoping and praying it would work. Day after Day, week after week the monkey was fine, nothing had happened to him. It was the best moment of my life.

“Dr. Reynolds I have some news for you.” one of my team members Scarlett had spoken up.

“What is it another monkey died.” I was losing my patients with this stupid virus it was hard to control and millions have died already. Not to mention the president was at my neck everyday picking prying on what is happening in the lab and why it was taking us so long. Let me tell you he is not a very patient man.

“No the monkey is stable still and we can start production tomorrow and by the end of this week we can start shipping and flying them all over the world.” by the time Scarlett was done, she was smiling so big that it looked like she was going to pop from so much joy and excitement. Scarlett was one of my best team members even though i am old and starting to cripple away she reminds me, of when i started out and she had the same excitement and joy i once had when something finally worked. I couldn’t blame her I was so excited that I got from my chair and started dancing around.

Making these antidotes was one of the most difficult things every we had to replicate in mass numbers but first i had to replicate it so are machines new how to make it.
