[2] Threathening

Being chained to a bed with wounds that had almost been Tori's undoing, was less than ideal. The fact that his wounds were also healing at an agonizingly slow speed didn't help his growing frustration. Tori was completely at the hunter Jean's mercy. Not many hunters let vampires go after first capturing them. He only counted himself lucky that he was still somehow alive.

The hours passed by slowly and Tori had nothing to entertain himself with. He didn't dare fall asleep as he did find himself in the middle of a wolf's den. He had no idea how many hours passed before the hunter finally returned to the room he had angrily exited. He seemed much calmer now.

"Was wondering if you'd forgotten about me." Tori joked as Jean sat down in the chair beside the bed. Jean rolled his eyes and put down a new roll of bandages. Apparently it was time to change them. A slight hiss escaped Tori's lips when he peeled the old bandages off.

He'd bled through them.

"That's odd. They should've healed by now." Tori commented with furrowed brows. He could even feel the wounds healing but it didn't look like it had healed anything when he saw how they looked. Still open, and still oozing blood.

"You did take quite a few silver bullets. I have never seen a vampire survive more than three. You took five." Jean commented, sounding genuinely surprised by the fact. Tori chuckled.

"Well, I was very determined not to die at the hands of ferals. Speaking of which, found who set them lose?" Jean gave him a look that told him he was not gonna tell him. Tori sighed.

"So what is this? Am I going to be your prisoner? Should I just wait for that silver bullet to my head once I'm asleep?" Jean scoffed as he started cleaning the wounds.

"I want to you to tell me exactly what happened last night. Every detail no matter how insignificant you think it may be." He said.

"Which means you haven't got a clue. So that's why I'm still alive. Fine, I'll tell you." Tori relented with a small sigh.

"I had just exited a meeting with my clan. I was feeling a slight hunger so I decided to avoid the more populated areas and go for the empty alleys." Jean's jaw tensed at the mention of being hungry and his expression hardened.

"Hoping to come upon a lone beggar or criminal that wouldn't be missed?" He asked and now it was Tori's time to roll his eyes. "Contrary to popular belief not all of us attacks humans. I had some donated blood at home I was going to drink to sate my thirst." Jean still didn't look all too convinced at Tori's words.

"Anyways, I remember hearing a girl scream so I decided to check it out.  When I got to the girl it was already too late. The ferals jumped me when I tried to see if I could bring her back."

"A girl? We didn't see a girl."

"Check the news. I ran for eight blocks after that trying to shake them off me." Jean wiped off his hands and pulled out his smartphone. He was deep in thought for a few moments as he scrolled through different news site.

"Allison Clark. Twenty-five. Found dead in alley. Seems like you are telling the truth. If she stumbled upon the ferals there then it might not be far from where they were let loose. There would've been much more bloodshed if it had. It's a good lead." It seemed like Jean was talking more to himself than anything else.

Tori was about to make a small joke when it felt like something inside him jolted. He hissed in pain and gripped at the bedsheets. He noticed Jean eyeing him suspiciously, his hand already reaching for his gun. "Did you get all the bullets?" Tori asked through gritted teeth as the pain worsened.

"Yes, still silver shouldn't cause this reaction. Eyes glowing, fangs bared. You said you were feeling a thirst? You didn't get to quench that did you?" Jean looked both confused and angry at the same time.
