Part 1

I was just getting out of the shower when my phone started ringing.
Someone was face timing me. It was Ethan.
I picked up and looked at Ethan who looked worried
"Iris, I have to talk to you"
"What's wrong Ethan?"
"Grayson has been sad all day and he won't tell me what's wrong, I think you should come over and talk to him"
"Alright I'll be there in a few minutes, let him know that I'm on my way would you?"
"No I'm going to let it be a surprise that you are coming over, maybe that will cheer him up!"
"Okay see you in a few!"
I only lived three houses down from two of my best friends, Ethan and Grayson. It wouldn't take me more than 5 minutes to get there.
I threw my wet hair in a braid,  threw on a sweatshirt and pajama shorts, grabbed my house key and went to go see what the heck was making Grayson so sad!

I put my headphones in as I walked, wondering why he could be sad. It's Grayson he hardly ever gets sad but it's became a more frequent thing lately.
As I walked up to the front door I texted Ethan to let him know I'm here.
He came and opened the door.
"Is he in his bedroom?" I asked Ethan
"Yah he's been in there practically all day! I know you can cheer him up though he is always happy when he's around you"
I knocked on Grayson's bedroom door.
No answer.
That's odd.. maybe he is sleeping.
I slowly opened the door to see Grayson sleeping curled up in his covers. I walked into the room quietly, careful not to startle him awake.
I sat on his bed and started playing with his hair hoping it would wake him up so I could cheer him up.
"Stop Ethan that's so weird! Dude why are you touching my head?" Grayson said sleepily
I laughed, he opened his eyes "it's Iris you dork"
"Oh hey" he said "I didn't know you were coming over"
"Yeah Ethan let me in he said you were having a bad day and I thought I would come over to see if I could help cheer you up or if you wanted to talk!"
"Thankyou Iris, it's nothing worth talking about now, I'm just glad I get to see you"

It's always the same thing, he never wants to tell anyone what is wrong, I just want to help him.
"Would pizza help cheer you up?" I ask knowing it will
" you know me too well Iris" he says looking at me with a smile, I miss seeing his smile it's so rare these days
"That's the smile I love seeing" as I poke the dimple on his cheek
"HEY ETHAN YOU WANT TO COME WITH ME AND IRIS TO GET PIZZA!?" Grayson yells across the house to Ethan
"YOU KNOW I DO!" Ethan says
I loved being around my two best friends they truly are my favorite people
