"Tell me again why this is a good idea?" I sigh and roll my eyes, putting our belongings into the back of the seven seater VW.
"Because outdoors will do you good and because it's all of us going. What could go wrong? Couple of friends out and about having some beers smoking some green." My sister, Aria sighs and complies, putting her things in the back of the car.
Aidan, Joe, Aria, Carl, Matthew myself and Peter are going together in my car to the campsite, it's a gorgeous day for a drive up Coffs Harbour way.
I set everything and the guys all pile into the back with our two border collies Jet and snow while Aria and I get into the front.
"So my mate Jordan is gonna meet us there. Work kept them tied up so Jordan will be late." I nod my head and start the car.
We head off onto the road, all of us have our snacks out and ready for the long trip ahead of us. I take out my packet of Doritos and start to eat at them, of course with a car full of twenty odd year olds means my snacks become everyone's snacks.
I watch the moves closer and closer to afternoon by the time we finally arrive everyone is over being in the car and want to hurry up and get our tents up. The place we are staying at has houses on the property which you can rent out for your stay but we decided not to rent them. Wanting to be able to have our privacy further down the property on our own.
Behind us arrives Joe's girlfriend Lucy and Matthew's girlfriend Freyja in a car together. Following them is Aidan and Peter's boyfriends - who are brothers - Jack and Axe, in the car following.
Since I had the biggest car, everyone wanted to ride with me and some had no choice as the girls car was filled with people's belongings and the boys car is a two seater.
Once everyone piles out, the dogs run off to go do their business and wander back to us as we start to unload the tents.
"I'm gonna be in the tent with Carl." Aria tells me. I rolls my eyes and nod.
Carl is her boyfriend and I figured she would want to stay in te tent with her. I don't really mind. The dogs will stay in the tent with me. We all start to put the tents up, almost in a little circle. All up there are six tents but I know there will probably be seven when Joe's friend arrives. I'm sure as hell not sharing a tent with him. Even if he's a police officer.
Once all the tents are up we start the camp fire and some dinner as it starts to go dark. I sigh and wrap my blanket around me, the dogs either side of my chair as I sit in front of the camp fire.
I take my hair tie out of my hair, letting my brunette hair flow past my shoulders. The relief of taking the hair tie out makes me sigh. When all you've been doing all day is driving and setting up camp, the smallest feelings that relieve pressure or stress are magnified. Like taking out a hair tie and taking off my bra.
"When is your mate getting here?" I ask Joe.
"Jordan's almost here. Coming straight from work." He says. I nod my head and go back to watching the fire.
Next thing I know there is a car pulling up. I can't see what type of car as the headlights are right at me. Once they are turned off I can make out the police symbol and the lights on top which spikes my interest.
Our steps a blond haired woman still in uniform. I can't help but wonder maybe she got a tip from someone that we have weed but my confusion grows as Joe walks up to her and hugs her. She hugs him back and walks toward the camp fire.
"Guys, this is Jordan. Jordan this is everybody." Jordan skims the group with her eyes. Her eyes land on my and they linger for longer than the rest. I give her a small smile before she looks away.
"It's getting pretty dark, I don't think I'll have time to put my tent up. I'll just sleep in the car tonight." I hear Jordan speaking to Joe.
I stand up and walk to them, the dogs following me.
"If you need a tent to stay in for the night, mines set up and it's just me and the dogs." I offer. She turns to me and I have to stop myself from staring. Seeing her closer, I can see her deep green eyes and the gorgeous blond hair. She's still got her uniform on too.
"You don't have to." She says.
"It's fine, there's more than enough room. I'm Kylie by the way." I smile and extend my hand. She smiles and takes my hand in hers, shaking it. I can't help but watch the rest of our friends shit themselves. All of them have brought weed with them and now we have a cop amidst the group.
"I need to go get changed out of this." She says with a soft laugh. I smile and walk her to my tent.
"You can get changed in here. There's a light hanging up to your right." I say. The tent it quite big. You can stand up without having to dip your head.
"Thank you. I'll just get my bag." I watch as she walks out toward her car.
I leave the tent to her and sit back down at the fire with the dogs while the rest of them make dinner.
"Why aren't you helping?" I turn to the voice that came from behind to see Jordan has changed into some grey trackpants and a black long sleeve top.
"I drove mostly everyone here and helped them all out their tents together so I get out of it." I say smiling. She nods and sits down next to me.
"That's fair enough." She says with a small chuckle.
