Hidden Side

What would you do?

What would they do?

If they learned,

my thoughts and secrets.

To learn about the darkness,

creeping within me.

Hello, hello.

Welcome to the hidden side.

A side that's never present,

when I'm not alone.

Locked away,

inside my soul,

never there,

a gaping hole.

What would you do?

What would they do?

If they learned,

my fears and hopes.

A ball of anger,

but never real.

'No, no, this can't be right.

This can't be you.'

Please look again,

there's a girl hiding,

hiding behind a wall,

she built to protect herself.

You might not see her,

but she sees you.

I hide her away,

from family and friends,

and even myself.

I hide her so good,

sometimes I think she's gone.

But then she comes back,

back to haunt me to no end.
