Hidden From View

prologue

      The wind was cold as the darkness creeped over the night. The trees moved around gently and cast shadows over the ground as the full moon glowed brightly in the sky.
         
       There came a rustle as a pair of bushes were parted. A caramel colored head poped out from between. A girl of about thirteen climed through the bushes and into the clearing. She had bright green eyes and light, tan skin. She looked around, searching for something.
        "Hmmm... Halben said those flowers were here somewhere. Although... he did say not to look in the dark, incase of vampires,"she said to herself," oh well, I will just find them really fast and then go back home". She walked around a bit as she searched for the flowers she wanted. As she looked around, a shadow was suddenly cast over her. She did not notice at first, but then she heard a branch on the floor snap. She spun around in shock. Standing in front of her was a man with bright rubi eyes. He was very pale and standing over six feet tall. His clothing consisted of fine, black trousers and a black overcoat trimed with golden silk. His hair was a gold brown and he seemed to be a man of high class. He stared at the girl in scilence.
        
         The girl stared up at the man in shock. She took two shacky steps back. "Who are you,mister and what are you doing here?"she shackingly questioned, trying to keep the fear out of her voice. She knew that the man before her was no ordinary man. This man was a vampire and a very high one at that. In Verdel, everyone knew about vampires. About 30% of the worlds popoulation was made up of vampires. They were a powerful race that usually left humans alone. Almost every vampire in exsistence was born into the world , yet there was a legend amongst vampires. It there is a human turned into a vampire, than they would have powers that no other vampire will ever have. The power of true immortality,the power of the elements, the power to be in the sun, and the power to overthrow the royal vampire family. While normal vampires can live for hundreds of years, they cannot live forever, somethings most vampires crave for. The royals of the vampire world despised this legend, believing that no former human should be alowed to have such power. As a result, they put a law hundreds of years ago that forbid vampires from even attempting to turn a human Into a vampire. Any who tried would immediatly be exicuted.
         But this did not ditain them. Many vampires were desprate to overturn the royals, want their freedom to do as they please. So for hundreds of years they tried to turned humans, but with no success. All the humans they tried to turn died, unable to take on the transformation. This did not stop the vampires, though. This continued for years. This lead to the dicovery of the vampires. The humans were outraged over the deaths of so many innocent humans. So vampire hunters were made to protect humans all over the world. They killed all vampires they came in contact with. A special group of vampires were came to be known all over the world. They were called The Peirce Hunters. They belived that vampires should be exterminated at all costs. For some years the vampires and humans fought. It was dueing this time that humans discovered a power called Ulifcer. Ulifcer was a power only certain humans had. Babies dicovered to have the power were picked to become hunters Perice hunters and were later trained when they were older.

        Ulifcer gave those who had it the telecenices and the abilities to use fire. These abilities were very handy during battle, since vampires were enemies of the sun. For hundreds of years there was a brutal battle, until finally humans offered a truce on the condition that The Peirce Hunters would be kept. The vampires were outraged but they accepted. Several vampires refused to back off trying to turn humans and so they continued. The royal vampires agreed that The Peirce Hunters could hunt these rouge vampires , with one condition of their down.
           
            If a vampire somehow managed to turn a vampire than the humans would have to turn that person over to the vampires. The humans were hesitant, but finally agreed. For the sake of peace. Since the Treaty of Condition, as it was called, the Peirce hunters have bern hunting down rouge vampires. Rouge are not as active as before, but still extremly commen.
            The man smiled down at the little.
            "That Treaty of Condition has only benefitted vampires, yet you humans are too stupid to realize it",he commented. As he talked the girl watched his mouth. She could see his famgs shinning in the night. She gulped and stayed silent. The vampire then smiled sadly.
         "Even of I will most likely be hunted for this and you may not live, I must try. For the sake of those hunted before me and for the sake of my race", he solemly said. The girls eyes widened in shock.
         " what—" she only got to say that before the vampire flashed right in front of her. In a flash, her grabbed her but the neck and slamed her into a tree. The girl cried out in pain as her back was cut through the material of her shirt. She clamp her eyes shut because of the pain. She felt a pounding in her head. She then felt the vampire sink his fangs at the base of her neck.
     
            Her eyes snapped open in shock. A few seconds she felt a painful shock go throughout her body. She trashed and kicked against the vampire when she felt a tremendes pain in her heart. She screamed in pain. It felt as though someone was lighting her heart on fire. Then her whole body felt as though she was on fire. The girl was in so much pain she did not even acknowledge the fact the fact the vampire had let her go. She fell hard on the floor, which addened on to her intense pain. She felt as though her heart was stopping. The vampire glanced sadly at her shacking body.
          "Let us hope that you are the one we have been waiting for all these hundreds of years",he said before turning to leave. However, just as he was about to walk away, he took off the heavy chain hanging around his neck. The chain carried a bright, yellow diamond. The vampire looked at it once before placing it around her neck. With that he turned to leave, only looking back once before disappering from sight.
         The young girl, in all her pain, never noticed any of this. With one last heavy breath, everything went black.
