Liam:

Dear Ray~

Tomorrow is the big day.  I’m going to get to see my girl. Its been 2 years.  Maybe the longest two years of my life.  Two years since my drunken encounter.  I can only hope that she has the same silver eyes.  I wounder if she let her hair grow longer.  I can remember it was just below her shoulders.  I bet she is the same height as she was.  5’4”.

I just found out how to find her after years of looking.  Lilly finally let it slip that she bought a bowling alley somewhere in Indiana.  I found out that she is hosting a tournament tomorrow so I signed up on line.  I’m hoping that she hasn't looked to see who all per-registered yet.  I don’t know if she’ll let me in.  But I have to try.  I have to tell her what really happened that night all that time ago.  That I passed out before Jeff called her.  That that girl just crawled in bed with me.  I mean yea she wanted me but I was with Ruth.  I loved her.  I still love her.  Amy thought that if Ruth broke up with me, we would get together.  She was wrong.  I haven’t been with anyone since that night.  Amy knew that Jeff would call her so I could get home safe.  She was purposefully trying to wreck my life.  I have to win her back.  I still have that ring I bought her all those years ago.  I’m going to beg her forgiveness, win her back and then give her the ring.  What else can I do?

I miss you little brother

Will

I put the letter in my bag. I’ll take it to him when I get home.  I don’t know when that will be.  I guess since she owns the alley I’ll have to move down here after I win her back so it might be a bit.

Just then there was a knock at the door to my hotel room.  “Strange,” I said to myself.  “No one knows I’m here, who could that be.”  As I pulled the door open it flings back and hits my face.

“What the F-”

“HEY! I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM HER.  I don’t care what your reasons are I told you NO.”  Lilly of course.  Ruthie’s best friend from home.  I knew she would be upset, maybe even yell when she found out I was here, but I did not think she would follow me down here.

“What are you doing here Lil? I told you I was going to find her and when I did I would stop at nothing to make her listen to me.  Then win her back.” I barely got all of that out before Lilly started yelling at me again.

“Really … are we doing this right now?” She asked me.  I opened my mouth to answer her but she cut me off.  “She is finally over you.  She has a life down here and good job with no boss.  Oh that’s not even to mention that she’s HAPPY.  Did you think about what being here will do to her? NO! Your only thinking about your self, like always! Do. Not. Do. This. Do you understand me?  You’re not going to her tomorrow.  I’m sure that Cole, you know, her new BOYFRIEND will be there and you don’t want to be ruining everything she has been working for, by making a scene of some kind.  Stay away Will.  Just stay away from her.  Please.” By the end, she was almost begging me and her tone had softened.

With that she turned on her heel and headed to the door.  With her hand on the doorknob, she turned once more and looked me in the eye.  “If you don’t promise to stay away from her, I will be forced to do something I really don’t want to do.  I’ll have to tell her that you’re here so she can make sure that you don’t come tomorrow.  Is that understood?”  She asked me with a flat and almost frightening voice.

I freaked.  “Lilly you can’t do that.  Please Lilly don’t tell her.  PLEASE I’m begging you .  I need to tell her what really happened all that time ago.  That’s all I want, I swear.  I’ll go home when I’m done.  I just can’t go the rest of my life letting her spend the rest of hers hating me .  I won’t start anything.  I just want to tell her the truth to make her understand I didn’t cheat.  If she want me to leave-” I stopped at the evil look in her eyes and back tracked, “When,” I said with my hands up in surrender, “ When she wants me to go home, I will go without a fight.  But Lilly you can’t tell her.  You know what she’ll do.  She’ll lose it and maybe even cancel the tournament.  Think of all the money she’ll lose if she does that.  I mean I payed $50.00 just to enter.  We both know that I’m not the only one who would do that.  Just think of all the money she would have to give back.  Think of Ruthie, Lilly.”

I held my breathe as I waited for her answer, “I won’t tell but I will be there.  So that means I’ll know what is and isn’t said.  I’ll know what happens.  Got it?”  She waited while I stating breathing again. We stood in silence for three heart beats then more forcefully she demanded, “GOT IT?”

“Yea, yea I got it, no worries.  I cross my heart and hope to die no trouble.  I swear.”

“Good.  I’ll see you tomorrow then.”  With that she threw open the door and left.  Here I was again alone just me and my thoughts of my love, my Ruth.
