I thought there would be tryouts...

Start from the beginning

"Hey, I was trying out for Ch-" I started off but he cut me in between, what if someone else had gotten in? No!

"Yeah I know," He said cutting me off. I grimaced already.

"Shouldn't you be at the tryouts it's 9:15?" I asked, not wanting to handle the rejection.

"Well, when you put your name on the notice board and your brothers saw that, well, they sort of convinced everyone else not to try out. Our chasers did the same thing and our seeker was also all in favour. So, you're the new chaser. Don't let me down." He gave me a smile and went off.

No tryouts?

I didn't know if this was good or not but

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

I'm a chaser.

"Well, well, the new chaser." Alicia grinned as she literally appeared out of near.

I hugged her.

"I'm going to go have breakfast." I replied, promising we'd celebrate later on.

"Okay." She smiled.

I made my way out of the common room and went to the Great Hall looking the happiest I've been in a long time. A very long time. Actually no, I was happier in Egypt but ehhh! I'm a chaser!

And of course I sort of had to thank Cedric but that would mean further conversation and it would mean that Hermione was right. But she wasn't. I didn't fancy him. At all. I just wanted to thank him for encouraging me. I had to, basic manners.

I saw him enter the Great Hall, ignoring all my brothers I went over to him. Later on, I realised it was a very stupid and ignorant step. I mean, it's not as if he chose for me to be chaser.

"Hey!" I waved, in a very cheery voice.

"Hi Silena." He grinned.

"I'm the new chaser!" I exclaimed.

"Brilliant. Well, I just found out from Madame Hooch that first match of the season is Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff." He seemed sincerely happy for me.

"Oh. Okay, I'm going to go. Bye." I waved, further conversation would prove Hermione right and I seriously don't want to get involved in guys right now, specifically because I have O.W.Ls, this year.

"Right then." He nodded.

OKAY!

Hermione MIGHT be right. He is dashing! Errr more like too dashing.

But nooo I'm going to get to know him first. And I'm not going to tell anyone.

"Silenaaaaaa!"

"Yes?" It was Hermione.

"I'm so sorry for being so mean yesterday like you kno-"

"Don't worry about it. I have something to tell you."

I was about to open my mouth and tell her but then I hesitated. Did I really need a distraction like this? I really wanted good grades. Perhaps not as good as Bill's or Percy's but still.

Instead, I said;

"I'm chaser!" I said, in a would-be, cheerful voice. Don't get me wrong, I was truly happy and over the moon but it's hard for me to fake something and this was Hermione I was talking to. She must have clearly seen underneath this, not so satisfactory, cover up.

If she did see something or not, I never found out because she clapped her hands together and hugged me.

"Congratulations!" She exclaimed.

I grinned.

"Thanks!" I said, while ruffling her hair.
