The flames roared around me.
I yelled in panic trying to find my brother. Whirling around, the blistering heat made my eyes water. I stumbled toward where the front door was. As I neared the exit, a beam from the roof fell. My eyes widen as it fall toward my face and I threw my arm up to protect myself. The burning wood smacked into my arm throwing me backward into the kitchen.
"AGH," my forearm was cut with flames surrounding it. I patted it against anything I could see. In desperation, I realized if I was on the bottom floor I could get out through a window. There was one above the sink so I jumped on the counter throwing my self against it. The glass shatters pierced into my back tearing into my skin. I scrambled to my now wobbly legs and ran toward the road. I got far enough from the house before I fell to my knees. I turned back to see the home of my childhood burning to the ground all because of him.
I saw my brother running into the woods with our baby sibling in his arms. I called to him, "DON'T!"
He saw me on the ground. For a moment he hesitated, then he ran off into the woods leaving me behind alone, with no family left.

Two weeks later I was let out of the hospital. My arm had to be wrapped in gauze for the seriousness of the burn. Scars and cuts scarred my back from the broken window. They told me my parents never made it out of the house, and neither of my brothers were nowhere to be found, and I was going to be taken care of by a police man's family until further notice. I demanded to join the search party for my brothers. They were out there and when I found them, he would pay for his crimes.
I walked in the woods alone. The search parties had mostly ended. No one could find them, they were gone. My thoughts always circled around to if they were still even alive. Every time I thought about my brothers, crippling pain gripped my chest. Thanks to that night, I constantly had panic attacks. My arm barely worked anymore without a stab of pain. I grew more and more desperate as there was no sign of them anywhere. I felt tears fall my down face. I stumbled forward. No matter what anyone said, I still felt all alone in the world. My best friend had betrayed me, then stolen my baby brother. He killed our parents and ran. The world spun around me as I sunk to my knees. Nothing would ever be the same, I would always be by myself. The tears fell faster, and I found myself gasping for air.
"WHERE ARE YOU!?" I put my head in my arms and whispered through my anguish, "Why did you have to take them all away?" Leaves crunched behind me, my head snapped up to see an arrow pointed at my face. My eyes traveled up the shaft to see a wooden mask that resembled a deer. My eyes widened in shock.
"Come with me, quietly."
I wiped my face not about to let this guy think I was some kid, "Why should I? Who are you?"
"Don't force me to take you quietly."
"I'm not going anywhere with a wooden deer."
He scoffed, and took the mask off. I was mildly surprised to see a boy maybe two years older then me. His demeanor reminded me of a cold leader who had seen too much too soon. His eyes were a dark blue, and he had brown hat hair, or rather, mask hair. I couldn't help but snicker at it.
"What?" He demanded.
"Nothing," I stood up slowly not wanting him to let go of that arrow, "You have nice mask hair, that's all. Now where are we going?"
He looked at me like I was crazy. To be fair, I had been pathetically crying a few seconds early, but he interested me. It had nothing to do with the fact he was fairly attractive.
"Yeah, I'm not your every day damsel in distress am I?"
