The bars enclosed me in the cell. Nothing to do. Nothing to say. Only guilt filled my mind with every second that went by, behind bars. I had never felt this type of guilt before. Only the guilt of telling a white lie to your mom. But this. This feeling was different. The type of feeling that never slipped my mind. I had left that girl laying there in a pool of her own blood to slowly die in pain.

4 years earlier...

It was just three years ago a cold blooded killer, in New Mexico, took the life of a 15 year old student, Kara Scott. The murderer is unknown but detectives have had their suspicions but many have been ruled out. Their first suspect...Jose Delirus, the young paperboy who was well know at school, had his DNA found at the crime scene. Detectives called Delirus in for questioning. They asked Delirus why his DNA was found at the crime scene. A piece of his hair that was tested in labs and came back positive to Delirus. He said that his hair must have gotten on her when she gave him a haircut the night before he left. The only problem laid in his alibi. Delirus was in Kentucky visiting an aunt when Kara was killed. Detectives called the aunt to confirm his alibi. Delirus was innocent The aunt confirmed that Delirus was indeed with her at the time of the murder. They ruled Delirus out.

The case went cold for weeks on end. Kara's killer was still out there. A call came in to the station. There was a huge lead in the investigation. Someone had seen someone suspiciously leaving Kara's house on the night of her murder. They had only seen part of their face but just enough to be able to draw picture of them. A forensic artist took her description and formed it into a suspect profile to hang around the city. They later received a call with a name. Someone had identified the unknown suspect in the sketch. It was Kara's cousin Jalce. They called Jalce in for questioning. Jalce says he had only been at Kara's house to drop off a bag of clothes for Kara's brother Jimmy. No one could confirm this alibi but Jimmy. Did Jimmy find a bag of clothes when he got home? Investigators called Jimmy in. Jimmy was devistated by his sisters loss almost to the point where he couldn't talk. From what officers could make out Jimmy did infact see Jalce dropping off the bag of clothes just as he was returning home from work. When Jimmy pulled in he saw Jalce walking out of the house from what looked to be blood dripping from his hands. Jimmy opened the gate to his house an walked up the walkway to his front door. Upon opening the door, Jimmy saw the bag of clothes sitting in the mudroom and walked around the corner and down the long hall just to see his sisters hand dripping with blood peaking out of the bedroom doorway. Jimmy just stood there. Without a sound out of his mouth Jimmy dropped to the floor. When he got the courage to, he called 911. jimmy had witnessed jalce walkin gout of the house with what looked like blod dripping from his hands. Jimmy told police and they had evidence of Jalce's fingerprints on the bedroom door where Kara was killed. Jalce was locked up and sentenced to 55 years in federal prison. Although Jalce swears to being innocent, evidence keeps him behind bars.

1 year later...

Jimmy looked the officers in the eye. His next statement left the officers in shock....the one statement that brought justice to 15 year old Kara Scott.
