it was the day before summer break,
and exams just ended.
i swear, i was gonna die back there.
taehyung suddenly said; casually dropping his arm on my shoulder.
i looked up at him.
same. i'm worried about what i'm gonna get.
i know right? exams are bullshit.
but at least it's over?
i softly said, trying to lift our negativity.
yeah, it's all over. i can't believe we're gonna be college students over the next few months!
taehyung exclaimed, causing me to frown.
i guess he was too busy looking at the stairs
for him to notice.
but i tried my best to shrug it off.
yeah.
i smiled.
but inside i wasn't.

we got off the bus and started walking.
it became our routine now, going to school and walking back to our own homes.
it was silent this time.
there were no kids laughing,
there were no kids playing with their bikes;
the sun was beginning to create a shade of orange, and the clouds looked like it was absorbing its color by slowly turning pink.
i looked up and then looked at him.
he looked so beautiful right there and then, i wanted to take a polaroid to capture it forever.
how the shine on his cheekbones exaggerated his features,
and how some of his hair swayed through the howling wind−
it was driving me insane.
what?
he chuckled, but something was just off.
i finally asked him after contemplating,
do you wanna go to the beach?
he took my hand
and lead us to where he wanted to go.
the sky was still in a shade of light blue.
