Once everyone else was back from dinner, Cedric went to go find his friends. Hannah came in shortly after and smiled at you excitedly.

"I saw him follow you out! What happened?" She smirked. You smiled.

"He asked me to go to Hogsmeade with him." You whisper. She squealed.

"Yes!!" She shrieked as you shushed her.

"Don't be so loud!" You laughed.

"Oh I can't wait!" She squealed again.

"I thought it was my date Hannah." You teased. She rolled her eyes.

"Yeah yeah let me be excited for you." Hannah smirks.

"(L/n)!" You hear behind you. You turn to see Malfoy smirking at you.

"Hey Malfoy." You say.  You weren't going to anger him again.

"Professor Snape told me I have to tutor you in potions. I'm not happy about it, but I'm getting extra credit for it." He says.

You were as bad as Neville at potions, which was sad because it was one of your favorite classes. You sighed.

"Okay. When do we start?" You ask.

"Wednesday after classes every week. Don't forget." He snaps, then walks away. You sigh and continue walking.

Wednesday came and once you finished your last class, you headed to the potions room. Draco was already there. You sighed and put your bag down, then stood awkwardly waiting for his instruction.

"The last potion you made completely failed so we are going to try it again. If you blow me up I'll kill you." He says as he opens to a page in his book.

"Make this, and I'm going to watch you. When you mess up I'll correct you." He says, then leans against a table facing you. You sigh and start.

About 2 minutes later he groans.

"You're supposed to crush them not cut them." He says. He holds the knife as it's still in your hand and flips it so the flat of the blade makes contact with the Lacewing fly. All you can pay attention to is his hand over yours. Finally he lets go and goes back to leaning on the desk.

You shake your head a bit and continue.

But what seemed like seconds later he was getting frustrated again.

"You're stirring way too harshly." He says, and puts his hand over yours yet again and shows you how to stir correctly. You feel your hand sweating nervously.

He takes a step closer to you and you inhale sharply. You did not like being touched and you were hardly controlling yourself.

Draco seems to notice that you're uncomfortable and let's go of you, and backs away.

A half hour later the potion is finished. It wasn't perfect but it definitely was an improvement.

"Better. We'll work more on it next week." He says, and stalks out of the room without so much as a goodbye, and leaves you to clean up.

You sigh and put everything away. Exhausted, you walk back to the common room. Seeing that it's surprisingly empty, you flop on the couch. Before you can catch yourself, you're asleep.

*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*

"(Y/n)" a voice says. Your eyes snap open and only 2 inches away from your face is Cedric.

You jump in surprise, resulting in your head slamming into his.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" You ask him as he puts a hand to his forehead.

"I'm fine," he laughs, "sorry for scaring you."

"It's alright. Did you need something?" You smile shyly. He shakes his head.

"No, but you were asleep for 3 hours as missed dinner and I figured you'd want to be woken up eventually." He answers.

"3 hours? Oh no I have so much homework!" You panic, and grab your bag that you had left by the couch.

"I can help you if you want?" Cedric offers. You smile.

"Thanks, I'd like that."

2 hours later, you had it all done. You and Cedric were now alone in the common room.

"Are you tired?" Cedric asks.

"Not really. Are you?" You ask him. He shakes his head.

"Can I ask you something?" He says with a small smile. You nod.

"How long have you liked me?" He asks. You laugh.

"Since 2nd year when you helped me get on the quidditch team. I thought you were so nice." You laugh at yourself. He smiles.

"I started to like you in my 6th year. You were always smiling and it was so amazing to me." He says. You blush.

"Well, what can I say? This place makes me happy. I love the people here and the atmosphere. It's my true home." you answer. Cedric smiles brightly.

"Have any ideas for Saturday?" he asks. You shake your head.

"I'm okay with anything you have planned as long as we get some butter beer." you tease. He laughs, making you smile.

"What kind of date would it be without butter beer?"

*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*

It was finally Saturday and Hannah was fussing over your outfit.

"Don't you think it's a bit plain?" she says. You laugh.

"It's fine. I'm gonna go find Cedric, see you!" you say excitedly.

"Have fun!" she calls after you.

"Hey (y/n), you look great!" Cedric greets with a huge grin. You smile back.

"So do you! Shall we go?" you ask. Cedric nods, and takes your hand. You try not to make your racing heart too obvious.

An hour later the two of you forgot all of the plans you had and were sitting in the Three Broomsticks. You could listen to each other talk forever.

"I wrote to my father and told him about putting my name in the Goblet. He doesn't seem too thrilled about it." He said sadly.

"Well, I'm sure he just wants you safe. You're all he has left." You tried to comfort him. He nodded.

"You're right. I just wish he didn't have to worry about me all the time." he said.

"Well it is his job." you laugh, and he joins you.

"You know, I don't know anything about your family." Cedric says suddenly. You sigh. Only Hannah knew about your family situation.

"That would be because it's almost non-existent. Its just me and my step-dad. He loves me I guess, but after my mom went insane he just can't seem to handle me." You say. Cedric gives you a questioning look.

"I really don't want to put a damper on this date, but if you must know-"

"No no, I understand if you don't want to tell me. Just know that I'm here for you." He cuts you off, and takes your hadn't under the table, holding it tenderly.

"Okay, thank you. Shall we go to Honeydukes?"
