The sirens wailed in the night, shaking away the comfortably silent atmosphere. The wind shook in the noise, and the citizens slowly awoke. The crisp night air was soon soft, a melted mass of chocolate almost. Not quite.
A girl's head peeked around the corner, along with a boy's. A laugh escaped her mouth, and voices were heard from somewhere behind them. The children quietly slipped away, and every innocent spectator held their breath and closed the curtains as the government's cars drove past the children's location.
Minutes later, a message was sent off to every family in the area to arrive at the main square.
Uh-oh. Something happened.
