People buzz around the airport, people chatting and walking past us and the loud sound of the woman talking on the speaker makes my ears hurt. I look up at Beck who is staring down at me from his giraffe height. I just couldn't believe that this was going to be the last time I ever saw my best friend.
"It better be nice in Australia cause otherwise I'm on the plane strait back!" Beck states and I chuckle at his expression.
"It will be amazing." I sadly smile at him," you will be frolicking with kangaroos in no time!"
"Actually, I would rather frolic with wallabies because kangaroos are actually quite dangerous. One punch could kill me!" He says while he gives me his great, big, goofy smile which made me so sad thinking that I won't see it for a long time.
"Alright nature freak." I say pushing him playfully away. Little Teri ,Beck's sister, taps me on my hip and I turn to her.
"Hey Eden?" She says
"Yes Teri pie?"
"I'm going to miss you. Are you going to miss me?" She asks innocently.
"Of course I will sweetie. I will miss your cheeky smile so so so much." She smiles at me and giggles.
I turn back to Beck and he grabs my hands and holds them in his like he used to do when we went hiking and I was cold.
"I am going to miss you so much and your pink nails and crazy coloured hair." He says lightly tugging on my dark blue hair.
"And I shall you and your beany hats and massive t shirts. Oh and let's not forget your floppy hair!" I say then stroking my fingers through the end of his hair. We stay staring at each other for the last time for ages, trying to remember every detail of his face. From his sharp jawline to his dark brown- almost black eyes.
"Beck, Teri? Are you coming it's time to say goodbye? " Rosey, Beck's mum calls out. She turns to me and gives me a tight hug and says her goodbyes. Beck suddenly grabs my hand and turns me round to face him only to see his eyes glacey with tears.
"Text me as soon as you see the wallabies. Not kangaroos and make sure you call me on the online website thing at least every week." I smile and he chuckles back.
"You're such a little freak. You know?" This rude gesture made me smile so wide but at the same time burst into tears. I nod and close my eyes.
"I'll see ya." Beck smiles and pulls away from the hug.
"I'll see ya," I reply. Turning away from me he walks away through the security and catches up with his family. Looking around one last time to smile at me and finally salute me.
Hope you like it! The next chapter will be more eventful and more interesting but this is just a prequel I guess
