I run as fast as a runner trying to get first place in a marathon but my fastest momentum can't get me there fast enough. The whole purpose of vacationing on an island is to get away but at this very moment I would swap places with anyone. When did I allow my life to become a mess? It was only this past Sunday I married her and if I don't get to her phone before she does I will be divorced by next Sunday.

"What the hell did you do?" She says demanding an immediate response as soon as I unlock the door stopping me in my tracks. I know I shouldn't have pursued her. She had just found her family after years of searching for them after she learned about being adopted. She never knew she was a twin until finding them and worse of all she never knew I knew them before her. I refuse to answer scared for my own life but I continue staring at her knowing I might never see her again.

"On our wedding day curiosity got the best of me and I looked through my lying twin sister's crap and inside of her notebook I found a picture of you and her. I questioned her but she immediately deflected me and said it was nothing just a picture and because it was our wedding day ignored it and married your stupid ass." She pauses taking a deep breath and starts pacing around the room and I can't help notice the distinctively ugly wallpaper I didn't notice before.

"Why didn't you tell me you and her were an item before you met me, why did you let us get this far? How could you keep a secret like this from me?" She cries sitting down on the bed.

"It was a childhood thing we grew up and it was nothing serious." I finally say.

She looks up at me and I can see in her eyes she has started to forgive me and I hate myself for it.

"Do you swear to me it was a childhood thing and nothing more?"

"Yes" I say reassuring her for I could never admit to her that the love I shared with her twin sister only died the day our newborn son died. A love we swore to never speak of again.

The End.
