2: Assignment-Memory Wiped

His eye twitched, but otherwise, his face was blank. "I didn't shoot you with anything. It must've been a dream."

I scowled at him, rather annoyed but unwilling to get out of bed. "It was not a dream. The nightmare of my parents dying without me there to help them is a twisted dream that came true, and what happened last night was not a dream."

Philips' hand shifted towards his waist, where the dart gun rested. I flinched away from him. "I do not want to go through that memory again." I snapped.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "So you remember what you heard last night. Well, that's just peachy."

"And you can bet I have a lot of questions." I propped myself up and rose, stretching. "First of all, who is this Spydar? What exactly do they want with me? Did you guys really put a tracker in me through my food, because if you did, really? Was that the meatloaf I had the other night, because I didn't eat it. And how did you know I have a exceptionally strong immune system? It wasn't in my medical records, was it? What does this Illusion serum really--"

"Sierra Parks, if you don't shut up right now I will shoot you with an actual gun."

I shut up.

Philips sighed again. "Three, you can come out from behind that curtain."

Agent Three stepped out from behind the changing curtain next to my bed. "I'm glad I assigned you to her. She's difficult to manage."

"Excuse me?" I finally got the energy to get on my feet.

Three just gave me a impassive frown. "Miss Parks, you can't go around hunting for any answers. You're not allowed to."

I rolled my eyes. "When has that ever stopped me?"

"I am telling you right now that it isn't good for you to go looking for trouble. If you find out any more than what you heard last night, you will end up getting yourself killed, or worse, everyone in this building."

That stopped me right there. I stared, shocked, between the two agents.

"Sierra, please keep this secret. I know that if there's anything you are good at, it is keeping important things to yourself." Philips pleaded.

I sighed and plopped back down. "Fine. I'll keep my questions to myself. But, if I ever have the impulse that I need one answered, I'll come to one of you, and you will have to answer me honestly. No avoiding or lying." I locked eyes with both of them.

"Miss Parks! What are you doing up?" The head doctor at T-37, Dr. Tuder, rushed towards me, scolding me for getting up before touching the glass of water on my bedside table. Then she turned to Three and Philips. "Shoo! She will answer all your silly questions when she's out of here."

The two left, but not before giving me stern looks. I gave them my signature grin that everything was under control.

Well, as under control as I could get it. I'm still a very impulsive person.

A week later after I was omitted from the hospital wing (for about the fifth time since I started training), Director Shraeder stood up to say a few words to all the trainees.

"I have to bring something to the attention of all of you. Recently, it has been found out that there is an enemy agent in this facility. Today, everyone will have their belongings searched, and will be interviewed by me and Agent Strinsan. Everybody.... including the trainees. So I am asking now that if you have something to hide, come forward now, and nothing harsh will come to you." He leveled his gaze at me, along with the blonde agent standing at his side. Her cold gaze settled on me, and I lifted my chin and glared back. Something told me that this Agent Strinsan was someone not to be trusted, and someone not to overlook, even with her seemingly spacey attitude.
