"Eomma! Appa! Come quick!"

"What is it, sweetie? Why did you call for us?"

I eagerly pointed at the sky with a pout on my face.

"Those big, colorful things that go 'boom' in the sky! Where are they?"

"They'll be coming in a bit, Sora. You just have to wait for awhile. Can you do that for us?"

I shook my head vigorously as I stomped my little feet on the ground. My finger was still in the same position as it was before, unmoved.

"No! I want to see them now!"

"Princess..." daddy began as he kneeled down to match my height. He still ended up towering a few inches over me so I still had to look up at him.

"It's only 8:30 in the evening. The fireworks won't start until midnight. That's way past your bed time."

"Please, Appa? I really want to see them!" I pleaded with the cutest puppy eyes I could pull off.

He looked at mommy then turned back to me.
"Alright."

"Yay! I cheered in happiness and threw my arms around his neck.

"But! You have to take a nap first and promise us that when we wake you, you won't be cranky."

"Okay!" I pulled away from the hug and skipped into the house, up the stairs, amd jumped into my bed.

"Just three and a half hours left," I assured myself as I shut my eyes so that all signs of brightness disappeared.

After a few minutes or so, I was still wide awake. Despite my desperate attempts of taking a short nap, I just couldn't seem to fall asleep. I groaned as I shifted in my bed from my uncomfortable position.

Who knew sleeping could be so hard?
After staring at the ceiling for what seemed like a really long time, I felt my eyelids slowly beoming heavier by each passing second.

"Finally..." I sighed in content before I let myself drift off into a dreamless slumber.

"Honey, wake up. It's almost twelve."
I shifted my weight onto my side, not wanting to wake up just yet.

Mommy continued to shake me from my nap, but I still didn't budge.

She sighed fully aware that her attempts were simply having no effect on me.

"You don't want to miss the fireworks, do you?"
My eyes snapped open at the metion of the wonderful word. They're going to start any time now!

Without waiting for her, I jumped out of the bed and bolted for the door.

"Careful! You might trip!" mommy yelled from behind in alert.
