We often hear about the 'Kiss of Death' meaning something that dooms a venture to certain failure.

But what if it meant something new...?

To be a part of #DeadlyKisses, write us a 1000-3000 word romance story where someone's death (literal or metaphorical) gave them new life as a preternatural creature, and the love they found afterwards.

This can be anything you like – whether a well-known creature or something from local folklore – come and surprise us!

What is the #DeadlyKisses anthology?

The Deadly Kisses Anthology hosted by ParanormalLovers is a collection of contest-winning stories. The anthology GOES LIVE on FEBRUARY 1ST 2017 and will be promoted both by Paranormal Lovers and its sister profile, @ParanormalCommunity.

What are the prizes?

There will be 14 lucky winners – one for EACH DAY running up to Valentine's Day – with the final three being the top winners of #DeadlyKisses.

11 Silver Hearts winners will receive an exclusive SILVER HEART #DeadlyKisses sticker to put on a book cover of their choice and announcements on both profiles. You will be notified via PM with the official badge.

3 Gold Hearts winners will receive an exclusive GOLD HEART #DeadlyKisses sticker to put on a book cover of their choice, announcements on both profiles and a special winners' interview to be published in the upcoming NECROCITY MAGAZINE hosted by ParanormalCommunity this February.

How do I submit my work to #DeadlyKisses?

There are four actions you will need to take to successfully submit your entry into #DeadlyKisses:

1) Follow the ParanormalLovers profile
2) Follow the ParanormalCommunity profile
3) Tag your entry with #ParanormalCommunity AND #DeadlyKisses, and make sure you also have the tags #ValentinesDay and #Contest so others can relate to your work.
4) Fill out the DEADLY KISSES FORM IN THE ParanormalLovers CONTEST BOOK; failure to do so by the 25th of January may mean your entry is unsuccessful.

Feel free to save and use this #DeadlyKisses sticker for a book cover of your choice to show you are participating! A link to the transparent sticker is also available in the comments.

Guidelines:

Please read these carefully before submitting!

- 1000-3000 word story listed in the Short Story category.

- No mature-rated content, as this is a community profile for all ages. Must abide by Wattpad's Guidelines. This includes no graphic sex, sexual acts or language, etc., and must be consensual.

- We are only accepting stories in English. Our apologies if this is inconvenient for some.

- Only one entry per user.

- We politely ask that you do not spam.

- Story must be new, original (we are not looking for fanfiction in the anthology) and not already published elsewhere.

- Submissions must be correct and complete by January 25th.

Things to Note:

1) When linking your story in the ParanormalLovers form, please be sure not to link us to your 'My Works' page by accident! We will be unable to read your story unless it is a direct link.

2) Any changes to your form – for example, your username or story title – please drop ParanormalLovers a PM.

3) Your story will be judged based on the following things:
-  Polished grammar and punctuation.
-  Interpretation of the prompt.
-  Originality is key!
-  Engagement/judges' enjoyment.
