Who wants a friendship between the USWNT and Aussies?

Your POV:

We left and went back to the hotel to watch the game.

Everyone was really excited when we got back. We all sat together. "I'm rooting for Australia." Whitney said.

"Why?" Ashlyn asked. Even the alternates were with us. Everyone needs to be included.

"Cause if I get a medal and she doesn't, practice is gonna be weird. Australia winning means they'll get a medal no matter what. If they lose they'll have to play and hopefully beat Canada."

"Sam called me Kevin." Kelley sighed. "She gets gold for annoying the shit out of me."

My phone kept buzzing as the game started.

Family members freaking out. Friends being weirdos.

The wedding is after the Olympics

I locked my phone and put it away.

"What?" Kelley whispered.

"Nothing."

"Babe." She said. "Tell me."

"My dad picked a date for his wedding."

"What's wrong with that? I thought you two get along. And you like his girl?"

"I do but. He's got a new family after everything he did and my mom has no one. Ethan's leaving for college, Gabe's gonna be on his way out soon and Chloe isn't far behind. I know she says she's happy with the life she has, but when Chloe leaves she'll be alone. He'll have someone and she'll be by herself."

Kelley nodded.

"She said she'll never love again." I looked at her. "That what my dad put her through, put us through, broke her. She'll never be able to trust anyone like that again, and I felt the same but then I met you and everything felt good again." I grabbed her hand. "She just needs to meet the right person. The person who will show her that love isn't something to lose faith in."

Kelley smiled. "So what you wanna help your mom find someone?"

"I'm saying that I want to let her know that there's someone out there. That if there is anyone in this world who deserves to be happy, it's her. Before I left for college I could hear her crying at night. And I know she does it in the basement now, or when everyone's out because the kids figured it out."

Kelley nodded. "Well I'm gonna help too. You're mom is the strongest women who isn't my mom I've met. To raise you kids, by herself? I would've given up after Gabe learned to talk." I laughed.

Everyone cheered.

"Australia take a 1-0 lead and it's Kyah Simon with the goal!" We all looked up. Kyah was celebrating. "The German's are in shock. 1-0 to the Aussies!"

Whitney stood up. "Boston Breakers."

"Are bottom of the table." I finished.

"OK SERIOUSLY KID!"

Everyone started laughing. I felt Kelley grab my hand and I smiled. Christen was looking at me.

She laughed and Tobin put her arm around her. I raised my eyebrows and Christen shook her head, still laughing.

Everyone deserves to be with that special someone.

Everyone.
