Third

So with my luggage, I left a note;

“My darling, I’ve been the happiest with you;

The nights we shared and the talks too;

But I ought to tell you these little things;

Words I know I need to sing;

I saw your wife the other day;

She seemed happy, she seemed okay;

I walked closer ‘till she saw me;

She gazed into my eyes, still looked happy;

“How’s my husband?” her soft voice asked;

I smiled at her and said “he’s fine”;

She nodded her head, and she sadly said;

“Take care of him” and her tears fell;

Walking through home, I saw your son;

Looking at anywhere but the bright sun;

He found me staring and smiled at me;

He walked closer and said, “sweetie”;

My tears prickled as I woke up;

I realized, it’s a dream I had;

There I learned some important things;

I broke the heart of those good being;

I could never amend for a broken trust;

But I know I can still heal broken hearts;

You’ll be happier with them, I know;

And I’ll be happier too, I’ll grow;
