PROLOG

Darkness. The first thing she noticed when she open her eyes. It was dark there, there's no light at all. The only light she can find is the sun outside the room, but it was noon already and it's getting darker.

She looked around the room. Scared and confused.

She was alone here, that was what she thought. She was alone, in the dark room, didn't know what to do.

Why am I here? She thought.

Her eyes roamed around the room. She didn't see much at first but she was getting used to the darkness. This room is empty, practically. Only a small table and worned out sofa in the corner of the room.

"Hello?" She tried to speak. But her voice is weak and her throat is dry. Water. She needs water.

"Uhh... c-can someone please give me.. s-something t-to drink?" No answer.

"Hello, w-where am i?" She tried again. But still the answer is the same. Silence.

"I wanna go home! It's not nice here! Someone will try to-"

"Could you please shut up?" Where did that come from? Her eyes roamed around the room again, she find nothing. Whose voice is that then?

"W-who are you? Are you a...ghost?" She whimpered. Ghost. Gosh, she was scared of ghost. Her eyes began wet with tears and her throat is killing her. Not good. Not good at all.

"Are you serious? A ghost?" The voice talked again. She heard a noise from where the worned out sofa was and something.. or maybe someone walked from that corner to where she was. That someone was a boy, a little boy like her, if not older.

"Here. They left some water for me. I drank it a little so i assure you this is not poisoned." She looked at the bottle then to him, then to the bottle again. Without a second thought, she grabbed the bottle and gulped its contain until it was empty.

"Thank you." She smiled to him gratefully.

"You're welcome." He smiled back. A beautiful and very sweet smile. For the first time, she really looked at him and boy isn't he beautiful or what? His grey eyes lit in the middle of the dark room. She can't help but staring at his beautiful face.

"Uh.. where are we?" She asked him bravely. Even so, she really are scared about all of this. What will happen to her and to him?

"Somewhere i guess.. i don't know either." He sighed and finally sit next to her.

"Are we... lost or something? How did we get here? Do i know you?"

"You're so naive. We're not lost. We're kidnapped." He stated calmly. How could he be so calm? "Oh and you don't know me.. literally."

"But... why me? I'm not a bad kid. I'm nice and what will they do to us?"

Again with the question. The boy thought. This little girl is too naive for her own good and why was she here anyway? He thought it was just him but then, he heard a small voice from the other corner of the room and there she was. A little girl with big brown eyes staring at him with tears stearming down her eyes. She was so little...or maybe he acted older than he suppose to act.

"How old are you?"

"Uhmm..six. you?" She answerd quietly. Looking at him with those big doe eyes.

"Ten almost eleven. By the way, don't worry about this okay? Someone will find us soon." He patted her head and smile. He never did it to anyone. Smile to comfort. But for this little girl, he wanted to do it. Maybe because all of his life he never had a friend and he wanted one so.. this little girl will do, right?

She looked at him and suddenly throw herself at him, gave him a hug that surprisingly warm. "Thank you. I will try to stay strong."

She beamed at him, showing her teeth and somehow it made smile as well. He returned her hug and rubbed her back gently until she fell asleep in his arms. Waiting and hoping someone would finally find them.

"You will be okay. I will protect you forever. I promise you that." He whispered, looking down at her face.
