Prologue

I've re-written my fanfiction 'Home'. In this version Kelly's sister is called Zoe and Kelly knew about her son. Same plot more or less. I'd like to make this a crossover with Hawaii Five 0 let me know what you think.

Prologue

It was a cold autumn morning in Chicago and the small crowds in the airport began to form into bigger ones, the sound of phones ringing, suitcases gliding and greetings exchanged drowned the sound of the O'Hare airport. Zoe gripped the small hand she held tightly as she weaved her way through the gatherings. Walking outside Zoe Severide let out the breath she'd been holding, the brunette's hair flew freely in the wind and she supported a smile that had yet to disappear she looked to the 3 year old that stood beside her "We're home kiddo".

The echo of a voice she knew all too well could be heard from behind her "You are indeed" Zoe quickly turned her head to the voice.

"Uncle Tonio!" the tiny voice squealed as he ran towards the voice.

"James Kelly Canavan. I've missed you bud"

Picking up Jamie Antonio looked to see his best friend stood with her arms open "Good to see you Zo'"Antonio quickly embraced his best friend with his free arm.

The two had a very strong and unique bond as friends and this had always been evident in their team work. Zoe Severide was your typical cop a very ambitious one at that, she was well know in the CPD for her ability to crack a witness and make any tough gang member cave even after having her son and moving to the island she was still known for her 'tactics'.

"I'm glad we're home" she said knowing what her friend really meant. After buckling Jamie in the two got into Antonio's car and drove towards the precinct.

"Momma, what about Uncle Kelly?"

"Actually Tonio?" Deep down Zoe was scared to face her brother after all this time of course she had spoken to him over the years and he'd known all about her job in Hawaii and they had had frequent conversations.

As Zoe and Jamie approached the firehouse she instantly recognised her best friends sandy blonde hair and goofy grin as he joked around with Otis who clearly wasn't the candidate anymore. As Zoe's heels touched the gravel driveway the heads of the two firefighters had quickly shot up and took in the sight of the brunette woman and her mini me who stood next to her.

"Zoe?' Matt Casey couldn't believe his eyes. His voice was shaking with shock having not seen his friend for nearly 5 years, Zoe had also kept in contact with him and would call him regularly.

'Matt..' He wrapped her tight in a hug and pulled Zoe back and held her at arm's length.

"It's good to see you." Zoe smiled before he continued "Now who is handsome young man? Because if I remember rightly Jamie Canavan was only this high when I saw him last"

"I'm most definitely James Kelly Canavan Uncle Matt" Jamie insisted

"Where is he?" Zoe asked Matt as he picked the toddler up from the ground.

"He was with the chief, come on let's get you something to eat" Nodding in response Zoe and Jamie made their way through the all too familiar apparatus floor towards the common, sure enough there were new faces but there were also the faces of men and women who she'd grown to love ever since Kelly started at 51. From people who were like siblings, to uncles and also father figures. People who gave her advice on a relationships and career choices.

"If it isn't the other Severide" One firefighter Zoe recalled as Cruz shouted from across the common room. Pointing at the 3 year old in Matt's arms he asked the woman "Is this?" with a nod he just smiled at Zoe and embraced her in a small hug.
