The sky remained ominous for the 5th day in a row, taking a toll on Tyler's head.  It was only one day into spring break and he already missed the thing that made him desperate to leave.

Josh.

Tyler and Josh had known each other for years, and had never gotten along.  It never turned into anything special, just an elementary enemy.

The migrane in Tyler's head pulsed through him and brought convulsions and cold flashes in its path of destruction.

He shoved his fingers into his dirty brown hair and yanked on large clumps, trying to make the memories of Josh dissappear.

"I hate you"
"Worthless piece of trash"
"Go die already"

The words churned in his brain, slowly increasing in volume and getting more and more agressive. The vile conjunctions that spewed out of Josh's beautiful red lips slashed his face and burned holes like lava.

He hated Josh.

No, rather he hated what Josh said to him.

How could you hate someone so sharp and witty? His eyes were a trip in the forest, lost in the dark brown stumps and tangled vines. His lips were juicy melons, and reminded Tyler of childhood summer nights. His skin was fairy lights, glimmering and eye catching. His body was a canoe, and his skin, a canvass on which he chose to decorate.

He was beautiful, and he was forbidden.

The familiar saltiness of teardrops wetted Tyler's face, as his eyes became pink and puffy once again.

Spring break came and went, and before Tyler knew it, he was clicking the key in his ignition to go back to school. The drive felt like the sound of broken glass. So harsh but so pleasing.

The sun peaked through the treetops, as it did every morning as it woke up the world and embraced it. The sky switched from cruel night sky to the lilac colour of hope.

Parking the beat up little car, Tyler manually locked it, grabbed his books and headed to school, head down and dragging his shoes on the pavement.

His bag was heavy, and the weight became more noticeable as Tyler felt the stinging of eyes being laid upon him. He stumbled his way to his locker and clumsily unlocked it moments before it was slammed shut again.

"How was your break Joseph? Did you cry me that river that I asked?" Josh sneered in Tyler's face.

Silence was the only sound that was made as Tyler tried not to look at Josh too closely.

The weight on his feet lifted as he felt his shirt being tugged upwards.

"Did you go deaf Joseph?" Josh spoke, inching closer to Tyler's face.

Now completely off the ground, Tyler was being swung around like a marionette, involuntarily obeying Josh's movement.

The ground caught up to Tyler quickly as the pressure around his neck was released and he fell to the floor. One last kick in the shins before the bell ordered kids to their classes.

Tyler wiped a small tear, and brushed off the footprint left on his right leg. He stumbled to class and kept hidden the rest of the day.

As the sun set and the temperature dropped along with it, Tyler sat up in his small bed and scribbled down messy notes in the few blank pages left. A loud knock on the door struck Tyler out of his trance. He put down his pen and glanced out the window.

No cars, and no evidence of anyone important. The smash on the door became more desperate. Tyler scurried downstairs and flicked the brass lock on the door. Hauling the large brown wooden door inwards, the doorway conained none other than black eye-d Josh himself.
