Maybe it was the weather.
Oh, how Seola wanted so much to believe that it was the Earth changing seasons or the sky going to cry or whatever.
But the heavy downpour wasn't going to deny the fact that her team just got disqualified for the next match and at the last minute as well.
"Look, I'm sorry."
Squinting, Park Seola looked up from the curb she was sitting on to see the fifteen year old standing timidly in front of her despite the rain falling around them.
"I didn't mean to do it," she picks at the skin of her fingernails. "I just...wanted us to win, that's all."
Her anger suddenly flared up at Chae Rin's words. What was that supposed to mean?
"Are we that bad, Chae Rin?" Seola asks, standing up quickly and startling the younger. "Is our team so bad at playing streetball, until you had to cheat?"
Her eyes widened and she took a step back, away from the team captain. "No, I didn't mean that. I ju-"
"Because if that's what you think, there are plenty of other teams that could suit y-"
"But I was just trying to help! Why won't you let me explain?"
"Because you cheated. You don't deserve t-"
"HEY," someone screamed, cutting Seola off.
It was Hyolyn. Thank god it was Hyolyn because if it were anyone else besides the vice captain, Seola would've started to run her mouth on them as well.
She stood with an umbrella over her head and had two more in her grip. Hyolyn walked over to the soaked girls and handed them each an umbrella.
It was a good thing she brought two because the rain miraculously started to get heavier and sharing would result into them going back to square one.
"For God's sake, finally," she mutters, watching them finally get shelter from the rain. "If you guys are gonna fight out here, can you at least bring something with you? Gosh."
"We don't need any of our players getting sick, okay," Hyolyn says, as the two girls nod at her. "Good," she continues. "Now let's take whatever this-" she gestures to the both of them, "- is, inside. Got it?"
"Got it," they both mumbled.
