Interview with sluttylena, the author of 'The Gangleader Kidnapped Me'.

Q: When you first started writing on Wattpad, did you intend to write books that expressed humor or did you plan to write in a different genre entirely, like Romance, Horror etc.

A: I first started writing on wattpad with The Gangleader Kidnapped Me because I used to write in journals when I was younger and keep the stories to myself until I finally decided to share them with people. Mind you, TGKM has went through a lot of revision and is completely different from its journal version haha.

However I write many genres, but apparently I'm funny? So most people love my humor.

Q: Are the silly and funny personalities of the characters in your book related to your personality in any way? 

A: Vanessa is without a doubt...me as a seventeen/eighteen year old loser who gets kidnapped by an idiot, a mute idiot, a stupid idiot, and all the other members of the gang.

Q: When you write the humor scenes in your book, are they made up scenarios or do the ideas come from personal experiences? 

A: Literally all my ideas come from everyday life except with a twist. Like the scene in my story with the whole Vanessa and the gang telling "horror stories" was legit something that happened between two of my friends. Even the scene where Vanessa asks if Val wanted to see her twerk aha. 

Q: How does it feel knowing that the stories you write amuse thousands of people here on Wattpad?

A: Every time I go to one of my stories to check comments...a smile just appears on my face right away. Sometimes I'm scared to see people's reactions but other times I love it because it's cool to know I can change how people feel with my writing. Every time someone tells me something like "Oh my god, TGKM had me die laughing" or something I feel so giddy and happy inside it's amazing.

Q: What are your thoughts on Justin Bieber? (Yes, a random question indeed)

A: He's such a FUCKING DOUCHEBAG I CANT LIKE WTF HAPPENED TO YOU OMG GET BACK WITH SELENA ALREADY WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY SENSITIVE JELENA HEART WTF YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH *cries*

Q: Is there a specific time, place or activity that helps you write?

A: Whenever I'm listening to music is when I tend to write more and feel more inspired because I translate the lyrics into stories which I think is cool. And if you hadn't realized I'm the QUEEN of cliffhangers because I love how much readers get frustrated with me when I just leave them hanging.

Q: If you could compare any one of your male characters to yourself, who would it be and why?

A: Hm probably Justin from my story Confident because I'm equally as dorky and as awkward as he is. 

Q: Is it hard for you to write scenes that are emotional or that are meant to make your readers cry?

A: Yes it sort of is because it's a little out of my comfort zone and I don't like to be depressing...I usually try to keep emotional scenes to a minimal or try to add something humorous because in a sad situation the first thing that comes to my mind is to make someone laugh to try and forget about it.

Q: What inspired you to write your first story 'The Gangleader Kidnapped Me'?

A: TGKM literally...came out of nowhere. I can't really say what inspired me to write it, I just remember it suddenly being an idea and...happening

Q: Lastly, what are your thoughts on the rumor of Selena Gomez and Niall Horan being together?

A: Omg no no please Niall is way to innocent and stuff and I really don't like them together. I think they'd make really good best friends but dating is not something I can see of them.
