v. her

v. her

standing alone, she was

still leaning against that wall

unsure of what she was going to do

as she looked over the edge

of that grimy, suicide bridge

everyone knew she went there

in the dead of night

when the moon and the stars

lined up to meet

they'd pass her and honk

sometimes wave

but she doesn't respond

it's just not in her,

she has a different way

lighting up another cigarette

she looked out into the darkness

her mind was overflowing

with thoughts of everything

and she realized that she felt so alone

in a lonely world

where no one loved, no one cared

and no one was ever really there
