When I pictured how my first day of my third year of college would go, I didn't think I would find myself back at a frat party surrounded by random faces, but old habits die hard, right?
Whilst the first day of college for the past 2 years has been spent at frat parties with an excessive amount of alcohol, I really thought this year would be different.
I down the rest of my beer as I look around the kitchen, taking notice of the number of people who clearly have no problem basically having sex in front of strangers. I look away, my eyes trying to look at anything else but the two horny rabbits.
"Tate! Come down some shots with us!" I looked over my shoulder at the group of people beckoning me over. I send them a small smile before turning them down. They go on to ask others, finding another 6 or so people to join in.
There was no way I was going to let myself drink more than I already have. I don't want to be too hungover tomorrow.
I let my foot drop to the floor as I got off the barstool, making my way outside to hopefully find someone I actually recognised. My heels were starting to hurt my feet but I couldn't take them off. Thats not an option at a frat house like this. God knows what you'd step in. Probably urine.
Not recognising anyone out here, I shoot a text to Elena, my roommate and self-proclaimed lesbian lover. Not really, but it works to get guys off our backs when we go out.
Where are you?
I enjoy the cool air as I wait for her to reply - well hopefully she's sober enough to even type a reply.
I sit on a random chair, looking up at the sky and counting stars. 17, 18, 19, 20-
It seems as if whilst I was distracted by the sky, a number of people had piled outside, making a crowd as two boys stood in the middle.
Great. A fight.
I roll my eyes before standing up, hoping Zed wasn't involved. Bless Zed, he has to be my best friend here, but all he ever does is get in trouble everywhere we go and I'm not in the mood to clean his wounds.
The closer I get the more relieved I become. Zed's quiff is nowhere to be found and I'm beyond glad. However, one of the guys does catch my attention. He's in my Classic Literature class, but I have no idea who he is. I've only ever seen him as I let my eyes wonder around the room. I mean, he's quite the sight, so my eyes often linger on him.
"Come on pussy, hit me!" He yells at the other guy, who I recognise as Brock, who clenches his fists before taking a swing.
The kid from my class ducks before tackling Brock to the ground, planting his fist into his face repeatedly. The crowd roars and people begin pulling out their phones. Its clear who is going to win this fight.
"I'll fucking kill you!" He exclaims and I raise a brow. I never thought someone studying classic literature could be so violent. I laugh at the thought.
Whilst I was lost in my thoughts I missed the giant body flying at me. I'm knocked to the ground, making me gasp, knocking the air out of me. Clearly the tables had turned and Brock fought back.
The boy from my class instantly gets off of me, turning to face me before turning back around just as Brock comes in for another punch, but misses.
I wince for Brock as I see the rage building in this guys eyes. He quickly turns back around, slamming his fist into Brock's face, sending him literally flying backwards. It only takes one more punch for him to pass out.
I get up off the ground, dusting off my jeans and groaning when I feel a tear in my pants right on my ass. I look down at my heels and almost throw them out of anger as I notice the scruffs along the cigarette style heel.
