being gay wasn't normal in kian Lawley's neighborhood. Not only did he have a very religious neighborhood of people, but they knew everybody's business before it even happens and they even know things that happened before they even knew you, isn't that weird? They do background checks on everyone and since Kian and his parents have been living in the neighborhood for six years they don't have to deal with much, but the story is different for the people that the Lawleys associate with.
For example, Kian's parents found out that he was bisexual when he was just 16 years old which was 4 years ago and now he finally has a boyfriend that they know about, but they refuse to let the neighborhood find out about it. Kian didn't plan on telling anybody in the neighborhood because he knew how important their reputation was, but he never wanted to pretend to be who he wasn't, he just didn't wanna make it known to the public although he wasn't ashamed.
His boyfriend of 5 months was Jc Caylen, his parents were very supportive of his decision also, but they wouldn't want anybody to find out either. They claim that it's because they don't want him to get hurt, rumor is a lot of gays has been getting killed and they're just looking out for their son.

"We're gonna have to talk to him about this sooner or later, I just don't want him to think that we're doing this because of who he is or what he's into. This is just for his protection and ours.'' I stood by the stairs as I listened to my parents. Maybe, I should just ignore whatever it is, right? Me being gay hasn't been a problem for them and I don't want a problem to occur now, so I'm just gonna dodge the situation. I got up from the stairs and skipped into the kitchen. ''hey guys.'' I made sure to avoid eye contact because they catch on quick.
''Kian, we have to discuss something with you.'' my mother laid a stack of papers in front of me. I slowly looked up at her before looking down at the papers. ''can we discuss this later? I have to meet jaysee at the mall.'' I quickly got up from the table. ''Kian, please,'' she begged.
''what is this about?'' I asked. not really wanting to find out.
''We have to talk about these papers and why you need to sign them.''
I sighed as I snatched the pen from her hand and started to flip pages as I signed on all of the dotted lines.
''Kian , maybe you should READ THEM.''
''there you go.'' I smiled as I quickly ran out of there.
I'd do anything to ignore that conversation.
