 70, 80, 90 mph.

The speed limit on the deserted road was 50mph and Jace was way over. Clary squeezed her small arms around his torso as tight as she could.

"Jace. Slow down." She said, barely audible over the ongoing rev of the motorcycles engine.

The only answer from Jace was a big inhale Clary could feel against her arms.

"Jace. Slow down, please. I'm scared." Clary said, this time softer. Jace was the only one wearing a helmet because Clary forgot her's in the Institute. They came over a small bump and were speeding down a large hill.

 92, 95, 96mph.

"Clary. Can you take my helmet from me. It's annoying my head." Jace said to her, not taking his eyes from the steep pavement. Clary cautiously lifted one of her arms and pulled the jet black riding helmet off of his gold-blonde head. His hair went wild in the wind as he had no protection.

Clary slipped the black piece of hard plastic and metal over her red locks. Trees went whizzing past them as their speed kept increasing. Clary took a deep breath in, trying to calm herself down. The helmet smelt like Jace. Sunlight and..... just Jace.

"Jace. We are almost over 100 mph. Seriously, we are going to get hurt." Clary pleaded again. The hill increased their speed greatly as they flew down the slope.

"Clary, can you take the photo of us out of my jacket pocket. I may forget it." Jace simply said. His tone was dazed and dull. The golden eyes Clary loved staring into were not the same vibrant shade they always were. They were dull, like he knew something was going to happen.

"Ok Jace. Just slow down." Clary stuttered reaching towards his abdomen. She slipped her pale hand into the leather pocket of his favorite jacket and pulled out a small picture.

Earlier that day, Izzy bought a polaroid camera and took a cute picture of every couple. In their picture, Jace had Clary on his back as she snuggled into the crook of his neck. In the picture, Jace's eyes were alive with adrenaline and his fair hair was messily perfect like always.

She knew Jace kept ignoring her wish to slow down because their speed kept increasing. The were about down the hill and they were going 104.

"I love you Clary." Jace said absently. Clary was slightly taken aback by his random comment and the distantness in his voice, but she still replied with a meek," I love you too."

The world was a blur as they raced on the two wheel vehicle. Clary was beyond shaking with fear when she looked at the situation.

"Jace, For the last time slow down. I don't want to be going this fast we may get hurt." She said as a tear dripped down her face. Jace sighed.

"Clary, last thing. Can you kiss me." Jace said. He looked back at her for a moment, but it was enough time for Clary to peck him on the lips. When he turned his head back to the road, she hugged him from behind with all of the strength.

Jace wanted to slow down. But he couldn't. He noticed the brakes were cut when they began driving in the highway. He knew what was going to happen, and he wanted one last kiss.

The motorcycle flew down to the bottom of the large hill and off the road. Clary screamed as Jace stayed silent.

He knew what was going to happen.

 HEADLINES TODAY.

YOUNG COUPLE CLARY FRAY AND JACE WAYLAND SWERVE OFF ROAD AND HIT A TREE. OUR SPECIALISTS SAY THEY WERE GOING WAY TOO FAST BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE CUT. CLARY FRAY SURVIVES WITH ONLY MINOR INJURIES BECAUSE SHE WAS WEARING A HELMET, BUT JACE WAYLAND DIES IN THE ACCIDENT.

Jace knew they would probably both die, but he also knew Clary had to have the biggest chance to live. He gave her the helmet instead of keeping it. He gave her their last picture. He gave her one last kiss.
