It had been over a year since the accident.

I can still remember the day as if it was the last one.

***

Strolling through the halls of my workplace, the National History Museum of Central City, I let my hands trace over the plaques. As I head into the artifacts section, I notice an item inside it's casing has been knocked over.

Time of the Ancients. Said to have been worn by an Egyptian healer with magnificent strength, agility, and endurance.

A fact that ran through my head as I held onto the necklace.

The necklace that was clutched in my hands when the paramedics found me.

Unconscious.

***

Three minutes after waking up, I learned that I was one of three people to be struck by lightning.

But I was the only one, a year later, to still be in a hospital.

The man, Barry Allen, had been transferred to a private location and was back to his old life.

The other girl, however, didn't make it.

Jolene Thompson, a close friend from high school. I remember the instant crushing pain i felt when i heard the news.

But now, a week or two later, it didn't affect me as much.

I guess it's true what they say.

Time heals all wounds.
